You need to go through your local DAR chapter to find help for your line. They have research people and may be able to find an ancestor for you quickly. The DAR took in thousands of members this year as so many people have become interested in genealogy. Also, the research centers at the Mormon libraries are very helpful.
I hope you become a member. JG

Good morning Dee, I just started to try and add all of the photo's of Unionville cemetery (Appanoose County Iowa) and read the flower that you left for Earl. Did some research and Earl did die in 1926. I changed the date and added a note. I think that the carver confused his mothers death year with his.

By the way, where is Sarah buried?

Hmmm, not silly at all ~ I know the very same feeling!! I even get it when I get such a nice reply back from someone I have fulfilled a request for!! I'm going to check with a cousin of mine and see if he has anything else on Henry . . .

Hi Dee I updated this memorial and added the correct stone. Can you please remove the additional message that says the stone posted is incorrect. Thanks Rhonda

I am related through John McCubbin's, Zachariah's brother. Do you have his DAR papers? The info. I have on Zachariah McCubbin is from Ancestry.com He was in VA. Rank: Patriotic service, birth 4/15/1752- 10/24/1834 d Clairborne Co. Tenn. Service Source VA Mag of Hist., Vol. 23, #1 p.7 Service Description: Took oath of Allegiance before James Morton. Residence County: Pittsylvania Co. State: Virginia spouse Sarah Lane.
I am trying to obtain membership in the DAR through John McCubbins 1750-1809/Sappho Lunnon 1755 -1827. Perhaps Zachariah and John were together at this time and there is proof he signed the oath of Allegiance too.
They had a child named Nancy McCubbins who married Stephen Bloyd.
John McCubbin's Will probated in N.C.
Gleason McCubbin in his book states that there is no proof of who his parents were or where John McCubbin is buried. Wolf Island Creek Church Cemetery, Rockingham county, N.C. is much
too new to contain his site. The 1978 Picture in his book at the Baptist church cemetery is in Reidville, North Carolina.
Letter to Alberta Wolf (my mother) 4/18/77 from Salt Lake
975.663 Rockingham County, N.C. Will Abstracts Vol. l 1973- In 1957 a box of old wills that had never been recorded was found in the basement of Rockingham
S 2r Court House.
p. 17 A84 John McCubbins Apr. 24, 1809-probated May 1809. Wife, All my children. Daughters; Elizabeth Bloyd, Lydie, Executors: Wife, James Robertson,
Wittnesses: William Barber, William Harrison.
(In an Index of NC wills it has his wife was a Jean/Joan to lead to more questions)
In his will he does not list Nancy as a daughter, but at this time she was already married and in KY.
Marriage Bonds of Rockingham Co. yielded nothing for John and Sappho..
Any help you could give me would be greatly appreciated.

Stone is very difficult to read, I tried to clean it with water, but the black lichen would not come off. The picture does look a bit better with water on it. Sorry did not see a Nancy there. Rhonda
