Hello I am looking for relatives. My Great
Grandmother was Rosella Loper, born September
29, 1856. I have no idea where she was born.
Gracious, why didn't I ask these questions years and years ago. Judy

The coordinates are 1E, 8S, Section 23 if that makes any sense to you, doesn't to me really. If you look at Thackerville on a map it looks like it is right in the middle of a peninsula, surrounded by three sides by the Red River. The old town site, and cemetery site, is in the north west part of the peninsula, approximately 7 miles north west of Brown Springs. There isn't a road that leads to it, only accessible by off road vehicles.

The Old Thackerville Cemetery is on private property, the map shows the incorrect location. That is the actual location for the Brown Springs Cemetery. The page for Old Thackerville has a combination of interments from both cemeteries listed on it. It would take a lot of doing to straighten it out. Some of the photos are completely wrong as well, including the one showing an overview of the cemetery. That also is Brown Springs not Old Thackerville.

Sorry I am not related to the Loper Family. I am related to the Adair, Fields, Christie, Ussery, Reed, Summers, Falconer, Fry, Correll, and Renick Families. If i can be of further help let me know. Steve

Hello.. Elizabeth and John are my 2nd Great Grandparents. I descend thru their daughter Evelena. The info on the memorial is from the 1860 census. What is your line?

Hello. I have been trying to identify some of the folks resting in the Benton Cemetery near Ryan,Ok. About 23 of the 31 folks there are both close and distant relatives of mine. My great grandparents are there. I just noticed you are related to Emma Bammer Dewbre...and I assume her daughter Marie Dewbre Dabbs.
The cemetery, I am told, is in poor condition. I am trying to get some help to get it cleaned up. It is on private land now...
I will let you know if a clean up happens.
