Bio and Links
Bio Photo We have been researching our family for about 30 years and have traveled to several states for genealogy. Many of our memorials are for "extended" family members, but others are not. We hope someone finds the information we post helpful in their own research.

Except for those photos listed within our *Posted with Permission* virtual cem, every tombstone or cemetery photo we post was taken by us on the date indicated in the photo caption.

-- All contributor-posted photographs are intended for PERSONAL USE, unless stated otherwise. To comply with current Copyright Law, you SHOULD NOT post (and/or republish) any contributor's cemetery or tombstone photos elsewhere without permission.

-- As contributors retain the copyright on ALL photos that they have taken and posted, it is actually NOT acceptable to just indicate you took the photo from Find A Grave (since this site does not own the copyright to any of the contributor-posted photographs).

Regarding our cemetery and tombstone photographs, specifically...

-- We will allow most instances of unaltered OTHER USE, but with the added stipulation that you MUST provide a photo source citation (by referencing both "Find A Grave" [or] AND our profile name AND # in the Description) for any of our photographs taken from this website; for example, "Photo courtesy of Find A Grave Contributor: Law-Miller Roots (#47103448)".

-- Note that you can provide a link back to the Find A Grave memorial, instead of copying (i.e. Ancestry's built-in "weblinks" function can be used for this exact purpose). This option works quite well.

-- Please do not download and then republish any family portraits we post, as these come from private family collections. Some of these photos still enjoy copyright protection and are NOT in the public domain.

John and Margaret (Case) Slagle
Hi Marilyn, Incredible news on John #49016166 and Margaret #49016398 (Case) Slagle !! They are my GG-Grandparents. Several of us in the family have looked for years in an attempt to knock down the brick wall. I see my cousin, Kelly Lardner sent a message to you asking for help. May I ask where you found the information on John Slagle's birth in Kentucky and Margaret's maiden name as Case? It is very important to me and I would thank you dearly. I also would like to thank you for all you do on Findagrave. I have posted a bunch of headstone photos in the past couple of weeks that I took from at several cemeteries in Pennsylvania the first part of April . Should have known better and waited another week or two as it was cold, rain, snow etc., but still enjoy it. Thanks again, very much!! Mark Weitzel

Margaret Slagle
Good Morning,
I am researching my GGG Grandmother, Margaret Slagel, who is buried in Salem Cemetery in Frogtown. Spouse: John Slagle. I am looking for any information regarding her maiden name, place of birth, etc., anything prior to her marriage to John Slagle. There is some controversy over her maiden name. I wondered if it would be in records the cemetery may have. Thank you in advance for any information you can give, or referrals you can make.

Margaret Jane Barnett Beck
How do you know for sure that she is buried there? It has not been known for years where she might be buried. From what I understood and was told that James took her and wasn't heard from until the family received a letter from him stating that she had died. Where about is she buried there and is there a marker on her grave? I am a desendent of Albert Chilson Barnett he was my great grandfather. So this is a great find if this is a match between Margaret ant James Timblin Beck. If you could get back to me with that would be greatly appreciated.
thank you

Find A Grave Memorial# 35547405

Your message:
Hi, I am confused as to the 2nd wife you stated as Mary Jane Stonebaker #114450732. I have an obit for a Mary Jane (maiden name unknown) Winkler #22264806 who died Jan. 11, 1923, and stated her 1st marriage to Lewis Roberts #21963534 and 2nd marriage to J. B. Winkler #35547405 who had died 5 years before (making that 1916). Do you have proof of marriage of your Mary Jane Stonebaker? Just wondering.

My response:
Please read his bio section:
1879 The United States Biographical Dictionary, Kansas
John B. Winkler, Marysville
His second wife was Miss Mary Jane Stonebraker of Marshall County, Kansas. They were married April 1, 1872 and have had four children, all of whom are now living.

Record #35251551
The record #35251551 for Pansy Shaffer should read she was the daughter of Jacob Wolabaugh & Ellen McCombs. Ellen was my great grandmother. Thank you.
