Tricia, thanks for your inquiry regarding Daniel Johnson and Betsy Leonard. My data have shown Betsy as the daughter of John George Leonard b 1781 and Barbara Weavel. However, I have nothing to confirm her marriage to Daniel Johnson, nor to any one else.
Don't hesitate to write; I'll always help if I can.

I'm not sure I am reading this forum correctly, but if you are asking whether I received any communication from you, the answer is that I did not. Perhaps it slipped into my spam file by mistake. Since my last post, I have found more information on Candis . Several rather experienced and knowledgable researchers now agree that Candis's first husband was Moses Russell- not Gabriel.

Hi, Patricia, I am related to the Russells by my
Grandmother and her father. I have been researching the Russells for sometime now. I read
where you were a descendant of Candis, If you wouldn't mind send me information on her if you have any and on Gabriel Russell and if any pictures, I would greatly appreciate it. my
e-mail is firstname.lastname@example.org. I look forward
to hearing from you have a blessed day. Thank you

I am a descendant of Candis Bell. I am quite interested in the document you have where Gabriel Russell witnessed Candis's application for Richard Bell's pension. As you are perhaps aware, there is some legitimate debate about whether Candis's first husband was Gabriel Russell or Moses Russell.

Patricia, A LOT of the older people were named after someone famous as you would not believe the George Washington's,Christopher Columbus's,i have come across.I have not yet seen any proof that is his name BUT when i saw that initial sequence i right off assumed that it was James K. Polk Hopkins.
As for my wife being kin to Ira Sanders.I do not know for certain ..BUT my wife's mother is a Sanders, Saunders. They are in the area as my wife's mother's family ran around the upper part of Montgomery and southern Randolph county, North Carolina.New Hope is about 10 miles from where i live.
