Due to the costs involved in travelling and taking the time to get photos and info..I am not interested in transferring memorials..I like many others feel that, being we take the time to do all the work..feel it is unreasonable for others to ask us to constantly be transferring memorials, which just takes us more time. But please feel free to add photos to any memorials I post. I will also add info to the memorials when I have time, if you send it to me.|
I am a Semi retired business person.
Living in Canada in Ontario. I truly love and
enjoy genealogy, reading and photography. I have travelled many miles photographing and penciling notes. My main interests are in the areas of Seaforth where most of my immediate family is interred, and St. Columban, Dublin, Clinton, Stratford, Thamesville, Chatham & London, Ontario, Canada. There are many of my descendants buried throughout the various cemeteries, and being I can't travel to visit all of the cemeteries as often as I'd like, I use the site to visit them. I have been posting some of the photos I have taken. Hopefully some will help those of you who are trying to find your ancestors and family members. I have had people now recently contacting me to say thanks for posting the info on their dearly departed loved ones whom they had been trying to find for years. Many of these folks are getting older and can't afford to travel the distance to visit and leave a bouquet. They express that this way they don't have to leave home to visit the cemetery anymore. Hopefully this will bring more joy and spark folks to wander through their memories about their families. I always feel everyone should be remembered, even if just a little bit. So I hope you enjoy and use this site. Also if you find any mistakes, I would truly appreciate a correction suggestion sent to me. (I am willing to try and get photos for the Chatham, Ontario area when I am there).

I have completed photographing the entire cemetery and posted many photos and edits to all of the memorials you have posted over the years. The edits are based on what is on the gravestones and what is in the cemetery index. Could you please have a look at these and accept as many as you can in order for me to complete my remaining memorials postings. Thank you so much for your effort and cooperation.
|Ken Stephenson||Strathroy Cemetery|
thank you for your work on Strathroy Cemetery. I live in the Strathroy area ... any Stephenson buried in Strathroy I am related to.
I use the info on the cemetery that the Strathroy library has ... they have burial records that go back to 1878 (which help even if no stone was ever put up.) The front gate to the cemetery.. says begun 1862 ... so very early burial records have burned (likely when town hall burned)
Library also has the monument insciptions done by the Ontario genealogical society in early 1980s (up dated in 1999) Plus the Strathroy newspapers are indexed for B/M/D 1870 to not quite present.
Plus the next thing you will come across for Strathroy cemetery .. is two methods for finding a grave ... going way back to the 1800's the cemetery divided it up as ... Lot / Grave . Survey ..... but when the O.G Society recorded inscriptions in (around 1982) they made their own method ... section / row / stone. For the average person the O.G.S method is easier to use ... if all you had was the cemeteries way (survey .. etc.) you would have to have the cemetery office show you where this grave was. I personally have put some of Strathroy cem. on the Ontario genweb site.

I have made requests via the edit tab which I hope you have received.
Are you willing to add additional information to the bio of William Pincombe's memorial?

I am writing to ask permission to copy your picture of Lovel Harrison & family's headstones to my genealogy file. Lovel is a distant relative of mine through his grandfather John Harrison. Thanks! - Randy Harrison, Truro, Nova Scotia

Thanks for posting the nice photo of the cemetery entrance where my Grandfather, John E Presant, is buried. I will take you up on your public offer to use any of your posted photographs and hope to find a photo, someday, of his gravesite.

Thank you so much!

Hello, we were wondering if you would allow us to use your picture in our family tree? Please know we always cite both the photographer and Find A Grave in any and all pictures we use. We believe it's only right to give credit where it's due. Thank you so much for considering our request. S

PMN: Thank you for adding the information.
|Donna Siltanen||Absolam Shaw tombstone|
I have the Shawbank Cemetery Index and have found the dates and inscription for Absolam Shaw for which you have no dates. The information is as follows:
born: 15 Mar 1803 in Ontario
died: 26 Jun 1872
Sacred to the
The night cometh when no man can work. John 9:1
Why do we mourn departed friends
or shake at death's alarms
Tis but the voice that Jesus sends to call them to his arms.
