Thanks for the great photos. I would like to copy his picture for my family tree with your permission. I did not know he was a police inspector till I saw the picture today. Penny

You're most welcome, Carol. It is a handsome monument and I was glad the photo came out well enough. The light that time of day was a challenge.
Happy to be of service,

On the other sides of the monument are the names of John W Allen, Lucy A Sumner, Sumner H Allen, Lizzie M Wall, Ellen M Alley, George Herbert McDonald and George E Alley. Photos have been posted to their memorials as well.

His name was Walter E Myrick, and at this point that's all I can tell you. May was my paternal grandmother, and as you can tell, married a few times. I can't locate any info on her Myrick marriage, but I'll keep trying.

I hope you don't mind the tree shadow on the Austin head stone. I can try another time of day if you so desire.

Hi, Carol. You're very welcome, I'm glad you like the photos. I found the grave in the general area 25 yards directly south (downhill, toward the creek) of the church's bell tower. The marker faces east.
St Andrew's isn't our largest cemetery, but it's very old, and so many of the stones are worn. The older limestone markers are especially difficult or impossible to read. I imagine that's the reason for all of the unfulfilled photo requests. It's a particularly beautiful old cemetery. If I hear or see any information about the name Josselyn on Staten Island I'll be sure to contact you.

Carol, You are welcome. There are certainly a lot of Alleys in Pine Grove. Were they a big family in Lynn at one time?
