Bio and Links
Bio Photo My experience with genealogy began in May of 2008. My husband had started working on his and I thought, "How fascinating." That was the beginning and now I am totally hooked.

I love discovering family members who have passed and then finding as much information possible about them. It is great to get photos as this really gives more identity to the people in the family tree.

One of the most rewarding parts of this is finding living descendants then actually meeting them and developing relationships with them. I've met so many nice people due to my journeys in genealogy.

I've been researching the surnames Petersen, Nielsen, Christensen, Strong, Thrush, Wetmore, Anderson, and Timme plus many others. The list keeps growing!

ID Military in Westlawn-Hillcrest
We are currently working to identify anyone buried in Westlawn-Hillcrest Cemetery Omaha NE that has served in the military. If you have a loved one buried there or know of someone, please send us a message. We place flags on the graves for Memorial Day. This project is sponsored by Centennial Masonic Lodge #326.

If you can send us the names, we will be sure to include them on our list to get a flag.

Thank you for the help with this ongoing project.

If you have already received this message, please accept our apologies for the duplicate message.

We heard about that bequest. A local man once told us that a neighbor had left a farm to the cemetery, and they can hardly spend all the earnings from the fund, and the board tried to get permission to use some of it for other county cemeteries as well, but since it wasn't per the bequest, the court wouldn't allow it. They added that fence, and last time we were there they were putting blacktop on the interior roads, pulling out old trees and bushes, and doing things with the grass. Stone repair would seem a natural thing for them to do!

Looked again
I just looked again and saw that you were the one who put it back together. Thanks for making that effort!

Thanks for letting me know about the photo you added. I was so pleased to see that his stone has been repaired, apparently by the cemetery board or some other kind soul.

Thanks, Karen!

I had taken Marcus' grave stone pic at the same time! Just in case you haven't seen it, his memorial site is posted on Find A Grave.

If you decide to use my photos, all I ask is that you credit me for taking the photos you use.

Best Wishes for a very Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year!

Hi Karen!

I'm so happy that the photos helped! I'll be happy to send you the photos you requested but will do so after Christmas ... hope that will be OK with you!

As you no doubt know, the photos had to be reduced to Find A Grave specs, in order to post them to the memorials. I always take several photos, but use the best for posting ... if need be, I'll retake the photos so that you may have the enlarged copies.

So glad we were able to get the photos to your family in Denmark ... wishing you all a joyous Christmas, and a Happy New Year!

Best Wishes Always,
Sharon, #47770935
