|Wanda Darnell||photo of Amanda Holden and Thaddeus Moss|
Mary, you have a tombstone photo of Amanda Holden and Thaddueus Moss buried at the Moss Memorial in Hayesville, NC.
I was so surprised to find it. Thank you so much for adding the photo. Amanda is my GGAunt. Would you mind if I use the photo on my Family tree. Of course I would give you credit for photo.

Okay I see now... The tombstone you have on Howell Crestus Moss jr, says Wife of, then has his name under it, so hers much say Husband of then have her name under it. I'm not sure cause they are hard to read, but it looks like you switched the two tombstones? I'm not sure cause I can't read it real well, but the one you have for Crestus Jr, looks like it says wife of, will you recheck this for me to make sure?

Thank you very much for your time of getting these photo's for me. I'm very excited about them. Yes there are many in the family with the name Crestus and Howell also. I do have a question, on Lucinda you said the dates on it were the same as Howell Crestus's? So she was born 24 May 1810 and died 26 Dec 1886? I checked my books and I did correctly put the dates, or the dates I was giving anyways. I don't guess I have a tombstone photo for her husband Howell Crestus Jr. Moss when I just got to looking for it. Did you see his there? He was a preacher Rev. Howell Moss. You got my 5th great grandfathers Crestus Howell Moss's and on it it says the father of Rev. Howell Moss or something like that, forgot now. Do you know what the dates on his tombstone are if it was there by any chance? Maybe the person that gave me the dates and info but it in wrong. Also, I have a big favor to ask, when and if you ever have time would you get the other moss tombstones that are in the cemetery for me so I can see if i have them in my books and if not figure out who they are? You don't have to hurry, just as you feel or get time or get board or something. I have many names that are close family to these that I don't have a clue to where they are buried, these may be some of them. If you can't I do understand I'm happy and excited over the work you have already done for me and I thank you very very much.

They are related to my 5th and 6th great grandfather. I'm not sure of all the one buried there. We have two moss cemeteries that my family the mosses are buried. Most of the names were gave to me by an older man that spent lots and lots of money to research. He didn't share with me all the records he has. I'm not sure who is all buried there, but many many of them lived there. One reason we have so much info is because some of them were important people in the towns. One of them, James Leander Moss born 1840 died in 1937 born in Marbel, cherokee, NC was alive to share many stories and history, thankful, a cousin recorded many of his stories and kept papers and keepsakes from her parents. The cousin I'm talking about still has her parents living, her father is in his late 80's and past stories on to her also. He knew many of the names and people. I'm very lucky in this family line, but it's the only one that I was really lucky in. Most of them buried there are not my direct line, they are brothers and sisters and other children of my gggg's grandfathers. I wish I could travel to the area to dig in the court houses and libaries, that would be neat. I can't tell you who I am and who I'm not related to in that cemetery because there were so many, and I have no clue to where they were buried, but many many many lived there.

Thank You Mary. Do you know if the Moss family had anything to do with your church? I was just wondering how the cemetery got it's name, if it had anything to do with my family or if the church was there when the Moss family was there?
