|Helen DeArmona||Dr. Joseph R. Armona|
Dr. Joseph R. Armona was My Late husbands Great Grand Father, he was born in Cuba in 1848, in 1867 at age of 19 he went to the University Of Glasgow Medical School, in Glasgow, Scotland.After graduating he went to New Orleans, LA. he was going to find a cure for Leprosy, in Grand Isle, LA., he had family in New Orleans. Before finding a cure for Leprosy he went to Cuba to visit his parents., Then to Key West, FL.Some time in the 1890's he decided to stay in Key West. He opened a small practice, most of his patients were fisherman, they called him Dr. Armona, somewhere the De was dropped from his name.
He met Annie Colman Kemp before the turn of the century.He made a custom made cedar chest for Annie, maybe as a hope chest. He brought the cedar from New Orleans for the chest.Annie died 1922 at age of 54., Dr. Armona died 1901 at age of 53.After the death of Annie the chest was given to my late husbands Mother, Hazel Geipert DeArmona,in West Palm Beach, FL. the chest is still in the DeArmona family.

I am a photo volunteer at Holy Cross (Brook Park). I saw your request for his marker photo. I don't know if you are related. I found some more family info on him. If you'd like it, please email me.

|Brenda Brandt||William Kemp - Family Plot|
Hi - Thanks for posting the layout for the William Kemp Family Plot. It was interesting to visualize where my great-grandparents Tahpenes Ann Kemp Lowe and Gideon Lowe were buried. I think when I visited the cemetery 10 plus years ago I looked in the wrong place.
Are more of these family plot lay-out available some place?
|Gary Hand||RE: Gambone gravesite|
When I was a young boy in Canton,Oh at the age of 10, I lived on Sherrick RD SE. and John Gambone used to go by my house every day in a wagon pulled by a mule. He was a hard working man.
When I got married My wife and I attended St. Anthony,s Church in SE Canton and he was a member also. I'm 80 so you know how long ago that was. Thanks for the opportunity. It made me feel good to help.
|Sheila Lucas||RE: Marinelli Grave Youngstown|
I'm glad I could find the grave site for you. What a sad story! There are many Marinelli's at this cemetery and I have a few more to add. I have already made memorial pages for Adolphus and Francis - her brothers and her parents Ralph and Adeline. Let me know if you would like me to transfer them to you. Sheila
