|Sheila Farrington Schweitzer||Alice Gross|
Could you please link Alice up with her parents as listed below. I have the NEGHS research papers on the entire Gross family back to the original Immigrants. I am a descendant granddaughter through Alice's daughter, Almira Hill. Thank you very much. Sheila
father-----Jabez Gross, Sr.-----#125177505
mother-----Dorothy Ellis Gross---#125177830
|Sheila Farrington Schweitzer||Daniel Hill and Alice Gross|
I am a descendant of Daniel and Alice Hill through their youngest daughter, Almira. She is buried In the old Marcellus, N.Y. Cemetery alongside her husband, my great-great-grandfather, Melvin Seymour.I also have the only known picture of her, taken about 1849-1850 with who is believed to be my Great-grandfather,Augustus Seymour, as a child. I have copied it onto her find-a-grave site, which I manage. Take a look if you are interested.
Also, many years ago,a cousin did considerable research at the NEGHS in Boston and found the complete Gross genealogy from very old records which I have. Nowhere are they referred to as DeGross but always as Gross. Alice (Allis) is mentioned along with a marriage to Daniel Hill. They are most definitely English and go back to England and not France. How the DEGross story ever came about and the"French Woman" title I have only ever seen on that write-up about John Hill and never in old research. My own family records always referred to her as Alice Gross, too. Thanks for the terrific site bio on Daniel and Alice and all your hard work. Sheila

May I have your permission to download the biographic & imagery regarding Daniel Hill and his family?
I would like to upload them into my ancestry family tree.
Thank you for your consideration.

You must be one of the O'Keefe. I am the sister of John's wife Mary Mansell. even I remember the fiddle music of Ma Redmond and the piano playing of the O'Keefe's. You've done a wonderful job on Find A Grave for the family:))

|Jim S||O'Keeffe / Fowler family|
My name is James Seamans and I am the grandson of Mary Winifred O'Keeffe Fowler (37479225) and Sydney Howard Fowler (37499639).
My mother was Mary Fowler Seamans of Providence, RI.
I've read with great interest your postings on Mary and Sydney. I can supply on their daughter Mary's children, marriage and other information that I have, or you can suggest what I would do with this information on this site. I am new to the Find A Grave web site, so please excuse my lack of knowledge on protocol and such.
You can contact me at email@example.com
I look forward to hearing from you,

|Elizabeth H. Thompson||RE: Simon Berman|
I forgot to write down the exact plot numbers, but Simon and Naomi were in row 22 and Harry and Anna were in row 24. The rows aren't very long and all were towards the middle.
I don't really read Hebrew, but I'm familiar with the alphabet and have some good tombstone cheatsheets, so here's at least an attempt:
son of Joseph
Daughter of Menachem Mendel Cohen
For Simon and Naomi, the second of the three lines appears to be the death date info. The third is an abbreviation meaning, "May his/her soul be bound up in the bond of eternal life." The first lines appear to be:
Scheil, son of Zvi Hirsh
Masha Liba, daughter of Reb Beryl.
Obviously, an actual Hebrew speaker would have a much better idea.
I hope this helps!

I also have a photo of Simon Berman's gravestone. Unfortunately, it looks like there are too many photos attached to his memorial. If you can remove some, I can post it.

Sorry, but her name & data has not been added to the marker although the cemetery records clearly state that she is buried in that plot.
