David C Stockton
Hello! I am the great great grandson of David Crocket Stockton and cant find his fathers name. Could you help? It appears you took his gravestone photo. I found out he was supposedly married to a Nomar or possibly Norma. Also that his son (my great gf) Colonel B Stockton is buried in Woodlawn cemetery in macon co. NC with his wife Cora. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. :)

That's a great photo. It's very readable to be as old as it is. The person who recorded this cemetery didn't see that little crook back to the left on that G.

Bartletts
Hello J and C! I want to thank you, again, for the transfer of my ancestors memorials. I have made some headway on them if you'd like to check them out! My Great Grandfather, George A Bartlett was the founder and chief of San Mateo's volunteer fire dept. I wrote a lengthy bio and added a nice photo.

RE: Gilbert Daniel Mashburn
I would prefer to leave everything as you originally had it. I feel like it will cause too much confusion for some people. Anna Belle Bishop is listed on Comodore's DC as his mother. Like I said before, she is the only mother he knew. I was just wanting you to have some background history on Gilbert since you have done so much putting this family together. Gilbert's second and fourth marriages were so short lived that these two wives never lived long enough to be shown on a census with him. Even stranger is Gilbert and Anna Belle Bishop married on June 5, 1905 and the 1910 Census states he is a widow. The 1900 Census is the only one that states a wife, Mary Louise Stiles.
I have learned from my researching, that in this era, when the wife died leaving multiple children behind, the husband would immediately go on a search for another wife and it appears this is what Gilbert did. He and Mary Louise Stiles had a total of 11 children, but only 8 were living at the time of her death.
So, I'm asking you to please leave Gilbert's and the children's memorials as you had them.
Thanks for all the time and effort you have put into this family and for all that you and Jim have done with other families.

Martha Young
Hollybrook cemetery
Just visited Hollybrook yesterday with my mother. We were placing a flag on my father's grave (Charles Odell Whitlock). Martha Odell was my great, great grandmother. Her daughter, Sally, was my great grandmother. Her daughter, Lucy was my grandmother. Her son was Charles, my father. My name, Martha, comes from Martha Odell.
