Bio and Links
Bio Photo I consider my "roots" from East Tennessee and Bell County, KY. Many of my direct line moved to Monroe, MI as early as 1923 and that is where our line also starts to include the State of Michigan. I've done as much as possible here on Findagrave to preserve our families past, that they will be remembered. Miller/Cox/Brogan/Parks.
I started in the 90s to visit with those in our line and to gather as many of our old family photos and stories as possible ; before those who can share them with us were gone. There is nothing quite like a photo, story or memory to bring a person to life.
In many cases I don't have any photos of an individual. If you do, PLEASE post them in their memorials! If you have obituaries, biographical sketches or first hand accounts, I would love to add them.
It makes me a little sad to realize that most of my immediate line will have little ties with the areas of my childhood of TN and Monroe, MI, but those ties are preserved here.

My interests with Findagrave have expanded far beyond my family. I love most that it is free for all to share and that it helps to keep the memory of those gone before alive:

Someone once posted a grave memorial here that led me to my Great-Aunts resting place... I hope my work here will do the same for someone else.

THE RECORDING OF A CEMETERY
BY THELMA GREENE REAGAN
Today we walked where others walked
On a lonely, windswept hill;
Today we talked where other cried
For those whose lives are stilled.

Today our hearts were touched
By graves of tiny babies;
Snatched from the arms of loving kin,
In the heartbreak of the ages.

Today we saw where grandparents lay
In the last sleep of their time;
Lying under the trees and clouds -
Their beds kissed by the sun and wind.

Today we wondered about an unmarked spot;
Who lies beneath this hollowed ground?
Was it a babe, child, young or old?
No indication could be found.

Today we saw where Mom and Dad lay.
We had been here once before
On a day we'd all like to forget,
But will remember forever more.

Today we recorded for kith and kin
The graves of ancestors past;
To be preserved for generations hence,
A record that will last.

Cherish it, my friend; preserve it, my friend,
For stones sometimes crumble to dust
And generations of folks yet to come
Will be grateful for your trust.

I have started entering memorials into a newly created cemetery. You may wish to visit Clyde memorial. Is his mother buried there too?

Baker
Hello !
I filled your photo request for Frank Baker. Because the memorial was fairly high on the mausoleum wall , it was very hard to get a shot of just Frank's plaque. Therefore I took the shot you see.
Did I photograph the correct Frank Baker? The name of his spouse does not match up to who you have listed.~Nicole

RE: Woodland
Sorry I made a few typos in my message. My eyesight is not the best so I didn't see it until after it was sent.
Jane.

RE: Woodland
Hi:
Thanks for your note and thoughtfulness.

All that was required for cemeteries in Michigan beginning in 1920 was the name, death and burial date, burial location, and undertaker. Before 1920 there were no requirements sp good records are hard to found. Now since FindAGrave, death dates are needed so you see I am adding the death date to Woodland records which requiries research.

Jane

RE: Peace Cemetery
Hi,

Any luck finding this cemetery?

There are a lot of train trussels in Bell Co.

I will be going to the Historical Society in the next week or two. I will ask them about this cemetery.

Happy Holidays!
