Henry4 (Francis3, Henry2, Henry1) moved to Stafford County, where he was clerk of the county court for many years. He married Alice Strother, daughter of William Strother and Margaret Thornton, his wife (W & M College Quarterly XXII, p. 300, and XXIII, p. 143). He had issued, Thomas Gowry Strother Tyler, who succeeded him as clerk of Stafford, John Tyler, born April 17, 1743, Ann baptized January 30, 1749-50, Mary, baptized March 20, 1751, (Overwharton Parish Rigister). p. 778.

John and Eleanor (Strother) Tyler's son, Alexander GOWRY STROTHER (m. Martha Catching), Putnam Co., GA. He was given his "middle names" GOWRY and STROTHER for his uncle, Thomas GOWRY STROTHER Tyler, nr. Augusta, Richmond Co., GA (m. Ann Fisher Adie) and incl. the STROTHER family.

My GGG GF., Thomas Tyler (m. Sarah Shy/Shi), Barnwell, Barnwell Co., SC, nr. Richmond, Jasper and Monroe Cos., GA was given the "given name" THOMAS also for his uncle, THOMAS Gowry Strother Tyler (m. Ann Fisher Adie). Thomas and Sarah (Shy/Shi) Tyler named their daughter (GG Grandmother), Louisa ELEANOR "Ellen" Tyler, her "middle name" was given to her for her grandmother, ELEANOR Strother (m. John Tyler).

Alice Tyler, daughter of Francis Tyler5 (Francis4, Francis3, Henry2, Henry1), (s/o Francis (bro./o Henry Tyler above) and Anne (Strother) Tyler, Sr., married Joseph Allen,

John Tyler and Eleanor Strother
Michael, I'm aware about all of this you have mentioned. At some point the Tylers moved from SC (Barnwell, Barnwell Co) and then settled in GA (nr. Augusta, Richmond Cos.). I'm also descended from the Strother family.
