I have always loved to visit cemeteries. Sometimes the stories are obvious and some you can only imagine. I also love to take pictures so it was a natural for me to become a photo volunteer. I also wanted to make a memorial to my stepdaughter Brittney who died from injuries from an automobile accident. That is why I originally ended up on this site. I have gotten more out of this site than I ever expected to. It has helped me in grief,and I have found some very nice people on here also. It has given me a reason to get out of the house and get some exercise! (looking for headstone can be a challenge sometimes!) I have found family in far away cemeteries. This is just the best site ever!|

Margie, I heard back from the other volunteer and she doesn't have a photo either. But, she is going to the History Center next Tues and will look for obits or other info for those you have been looking for. Let's hope she finds something.

Not to worry Margie, I keep a list and contact info for such persons as Sallie. And, I have been lucky enough to find some at a later time. Now, for the bad news. Your request for S. Collins. I have a photo survey of block 16 and have no photo. I have contacted another volunteer who also has a block 16 survey to see if she has a photo, and waiting for a reply. I trust my photo surveys, but I am human, so missing a marker is not out of the question. I will let you know.

You have my permission. Good luck.

Margie, I looked through the records for both of Chickasha's cemeteries, Rose Hill and Fairlawn, and neither of them has Sara Sally Shipley listed.
Wish I could be of better help for you, I know how important it is to find one's g-grandparents.
If you ever find any info that might help, let me know and I'll check on it.

Margie, I contacted another photo volunteer who also has made a photo survey of block 8, and she doesn't have a photo for Frank either. With two of us unable to find a marker for him, I'm positive his grave is unmarked. The cemetery record shows he was buried Apr 6, 1938.
Thank you so much for taking and adding his headstone photo...
|Bailey Alabama||RE: Michael Remley|
I was mistaken! Mary Hyatt Bailey is a relation to our family, but she's a sister-in-law, not the ancestor we're looking for. I believe that our Michael Remley may be buried somewhere else, probably alongside his second wife Fay. Michael Remley survived his first wife Mary Bailey by many years. He may have moved to California when his second wife went out there with her grown sons. Thank you again. I think that we have reached a dead end with our search. Regards--I represent the Bailey-Remley family of Monroe and Dallas counties in South Central Alabama.

I do believe this is the Michael Remley that I've been searching for. If you would go out there and take a photograph, my family would be most appreciative. I would understand if you would want to wait until the weather warms up a bit before you go out to the cemetery. Thank you so much. I have a second cousin (Rusian Burrell Bailey) who lives in Arkansas and he would be willing to travel down to that area to see the cemetery if we know where Michael Remley is buried. We have two lines of Bailey's in our family. Mary Bailey is from the Tennessee Bailey's and our other Bailey's heralded from South Carolina and Georgia. I do hope that you are able to locate the grave of Michael Remley. It's probably alongside his wife Mary Bailey. Thank you again for your help!

Thank you for the information. I am looking for the grave for the husband of Mary Bailey Remley. Her name may have been Mary Ruth Bailey Remley.
|Mike Sykes||RE: Thank you|
Rose Hill records contain many errors in both spelling and burial locations. Those you look for may have grave markers, but are at a different location. In which case, luck has to be a factor in finding them.
