|Chris Coleman||RE: Rebecca Pennington 1819-1897|
No problem, I also added a photo of her daughter Mary Jane Pennington (Westfall) grave, which is located right behind Rebecca's grave. Mary Jane shares the same stone as Frederick. I have request that Mary Jane be linked to her mother and father's memorial.
Lower Indiana Presbyterian Church Cemetery was only about 20% photographed, but now it is up to 57%.

|Daniel Bly||Lawrence Snapp and children|
The Lawrence Snapp listed on rolls of the Revolutionary War is almost certainly Lawrence Jr. Lawrence SR. was already over 50 years old when the war broke out but Lawrence Sr. is listed several times in the Public Claims for material contributions to the cause (Janice L. Abercrombie, "Virginia Publick Claims" Shenandoah County,pp. 6-7 "L Snapp Sr. 500 lbs of beef 63 gallons of whiskey" and "3 days waggoning." "125 tons of hay", p. 9. "55 days pasturage, p. 13.
Christina Snapp, daughter of Lawrence was his oldest daughter, probably born no later than 1750 and married to Michael Spiggle by 1768. She had four children born between 1768 and 1775. John Spiggle and Lawrence Spiggle, sons of Lawrence both appear in personal property records as over age 21 by 1789-1790. Margaret daughter of Michael and Christina Spiegel born 28 Sept bapt 28 Nov. 1773 (Baptism of Muhlenberg,in John Wayland, "History of Shenandoah County", p. 739).
Margaret Snapp, daughter of Lawrence was married sometime BEFORE 5 Apr. 1782, the date Lawrence wrote his will. Probably not on that date.
Peter Muhlenberg did NOT establish the Strasburg Lutheran Church. Trustees of the Strasburg Lutheran Church, which had been meeting for at least 20 years at an old chapel north of town, purchased lot #12 to build a church in Strasburg in November 1768 and baptismal records for the Congregation date from 1768 (Klaus Wust, "Strasburg Lutheran Church Records 1768-1829, Strasburg, VA 1997). Muhlenberg did not come to Shenandoah county until 1773.

Can you please approve an edit to connect to her father Peter Stephens.
|Deborah Wood||Our Stephens line|
Walter, Like a few other Stephens, descendants, I see you were tricked somewhat by the Nebraska cousins, who claim to have written books and have in their possession, journals actually written by our Peter Stephens and wife, Maria Christina.
Bob Stephens and Debby Roe of this group have told us their lines...and they are not related to us at all. their line goes to a dead end which I proved to all and sent to everyone...at an Andrew J Stephens born 1810 Ohio.
AS in the message I reference below * that was written to you in April by "Daniel" one of the group of Nebraska charlatans. I can tell you that author Daniel Bly and other of our cousins are fed up with these lies and have written confirmation from Newtown Historical Society, Stephens City Association and there is no new info on any Stephens families...they did NOT meet with anyone, there are no journals or bibles...if there were, it would have made historical headlines throughout this country not just in Virginia. It is believed the hoax is to obtain scholastic gains for their children and other such reasons. They tried to join the Jamestown Society and claimed our Stephens line was British or Welsh.
Please cooperate to make our heritage strong by helping us correct the memorials that have been vandalized here by this group.
Peter's wife's maiden name remains unknown. Their daughter Magdalena did not married Jost Hite...so many corrections...we need to take back our proud German famiies.

MARIA CHRISTINA STEPHENS
hi Walter, your bio on Maria needs to be updated. Her maiden was Rittenhouse. I am in a direct line of the Stephens . She was married to Peter Stephens and not Johannes Peter Steffins. They are two different men. you could find this information in the Stephens family Bible and their journals . I wrote several books on this family.

On the memorial 36785531, it is said that you sent this bio for this memorial. You did so as a copyright violation. Those are my words, verbatim from "They Came to Virginia" copyright 1997 without sourcing me. It needs to be removed.

Just curious why you have so many Burial Unknowns? Families like Hall, Tripp, etc. This is very confusing.
|Debra Bradfield||Peter Burgner born 1719|
My name is Debra Burgner Bradfield, I am descended from this Peter Burgner. My father was Walter Eugene Burgner (born 5-31-1932, deceased 2-13-1997). My grandfather was Henry Burgner, his father (my great grandfather) Walter Linnaeus Burgner, his father Jacob Burgner, his father David Burgner, his father Jacob, son of Peter Burgner born in Bern, Switzerland in 1719. This information comes from a book by another Jacob Burgner published in 1890 which is current to my great grandfather, Walter L. Burgner. I possess a copy of this book. I recently applied and was accepted as a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution based on the service of Peter Burgner.
