My grateful thanks to Findagrave for providing a place to preserve our cemetery headstone data. Thank you to all the wonderful individuals who contribute not only their time and energy but expense in locating and transcribing cemetery data. Here we can help preserve the memories and images of our family and friends, and we help strangers to us but not to those that find their family and friends among these web pages.
I encourage corrections and/or suggestions for updates. Any edit requests may take up to a month to make but most are completed quicker.
Most memorials I add are works in progress and I am always looking for links and additional information about them. Let's never forget our family and friends. Please leave flower tokens so I can tell that they have been visited.
Please consider setting up a virtual cemetery for your family members. Any memorial can be entered into this virtual cemetery so you can have all your family together. Having someone in your family genealogy is not grounds for a memorial transfer. With thousands of contributors, there are many overlapping family trees and it would be impossible for all contributors to manage their entire tree.
Currently live in Walker County Georgia. This web site has helped me find many places I have been looking for. Thanks Find-a-Grave.
Researching Bishop's family from Magee / Mendenhall, Simpson County, Mississippi and Jones' family from Ellisville, Mississippi.

You are most welcome. I added quite a few photos to Corinth Baptist Church tonight. There might be a few more that you might be interested in. As usual for you my findagrave friend, treat them as your own.

We were allowed to do that on ones before 1933. I think they have changed it now, but ours are grandfather in.

You are quite welcome. I feel the same respect you mentioned for our veterans, and I am happy to help their families by taking the photos for them when I can.

|Cathy||RE: Wade Grave Markers|
Hi! We were there working last week and as I was walking toward the truck, I spotted the Wade markers. I know that this sounds sad but I only had time to click those 3 photos. The next time I am 'that way' I promise to snap photos of the others.. shouldn't be too long until I am up that way again.
I am so glad that you had the row numbers because I might not have noticed their little markers without your numbers. Thanks so much for that!

|Jeanie Smith Hill||Leona Pearl Nelson Stansel|
I want to thank you so much for linking Leona with her mother. Leona's maiden name was Nelson. I have no proof of her mothers maiden name. All I have found is that she went by Nelson then Gilbert. On the census record it shows Mary E Gilbert. I have not found any marriage license for a Nelson. Mary was born in Tennessee and living in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois in 1935. Hope that this helps.
Again thank you for linking them up.
|Mary||Colon N. Floyd|
Myrtis Jane, do you know anything about the Colon N. Floyd born Feb 10, 1827, died June 6, 1887, buried in Magee Cem, Simpson Co, MS and his wife E. C. on the double headstone?
In researching these people, I find in CENSUS 1900, Simpson Co, a Colen N. Floyd 73, born Miss. Feb1827, married 29 years, with wife Elizabeth E. 53 born Miss. Apr 1847. Therefore, I am wondering about the death date of Colen Floyd on the headstone in Magee Cemetery. Could you shed any light on this? Thank you! M. Perry, member #47148892
