I have been researching my Wilson, Cross, Welsh, Williams family lines since 2007. It has been a memorable journey. After college I served 20 years in the Air Force as a Weather Officer. I presently live in Beaumont, California where I am very active in my church. Visit my web site at www.wilson-moore.com to learn more about my family trees.|

|Robert C. Peurifoy||Betty Jane Cox|
Finally used your web site. It is very nice. I had something like it on AOL but they took it down after I left them.
I noticed you have Betty Jane Cox Peurifoy as married to "Living". If you want to list him as deceased, just follow the John E. Peurifoy link on his web page.
p.s. Meant to ask. Do you know if her name was Betty or was that a nickname. Sometimes it is used as an abbreviation for Elizabeth.

Did you follow Betty Cox's marriage to Arthur Chidester. I first had them buried in the wrong cemetery but is correct now. Betty Cox Peurifoy wrote a fascinating story about being the wife of the Ambassador to Greece. That's where she gave him the name "Pistol Packin' Peurifoy". Due to the political situation he wore a gun with his suit. He was the Undersecretary of State for Administration, was the background manager for the United Nations. got caught up in the McCarthy political trials, then worked with the CIA in Greece and Guatemala to overthrow the communist insurgents in those countries. His death is considered by some to be suspicious.
