I started working on genealogy when my mother, maternal grandfather and grandmother in-law died the same year. It dawned on me that I didn't know any thing about my family and now had no one to ask. I am so fortunate that the volunteers at Find-a-grave are so willing to share the information in their areas and some day hope to be one of them.

I was born and raised in Washington where I raised my two children and my 4 grandchildren were reared. With this hobby I have traveled 47 states. I find my dead relatives to be so much more interesting than my live ones are. I don't take responsibility for anything my ancestors did in their time but have gotten a great many laughs from their escapades.

May they rest in peace.

RE: Leiland C Sherman
Hi Myrna,

He does not show up on the Forest Lawn grave locator. However, there are apparently thousands of people buried there who do not show up in the grave locator. Your best bet would be to call the cemetery at 800-204-3131 and ask for the Glendale Records Office (I am assuming his parents are buried in Glendale). Give them his name and death date and they may be able to find him, even if he doesn't show up on the website.

BTW, the site rules say that you can't charge money to help people on the site, and we do follow that rule.

RE: Benjamin Gratz Brown
Hello--I created the record and added the pic but was not the one who supplied the information (as I don't unless they are MY own people and I know the info to be accurate). Most of the Brown records were transferred to someone else at their request. Happy Graving--Janis

Rozella Hinckle
Sorry I do not have any photo's from the wall. I don't remember who gave me this copy of Rozella to me. We have been working over 20 years on the Cokeley Family and back in the day we did not think to add where or who gave us photos.
I would love any help you can find the time to work on the family.

Chester R. Robinson
I found an index for the Dayton News and did a search for Chester:

Chester R. Robinson

Based on what I've found, there ARE two different Charles R. Robinsons. KY Births lists one born in Oct of 1924 to Maggie Satterly and the other born in Dec of 1924 to Maude Radliff. The first mentioned died in KY in 1989 the second in 2002 in OH. All of the Robinsons in J'town Cemetery are all buried near each other and appear to be related. Ray and Maggie (Satterly) Robinson were also the parents of James E. Robinson. He too is buried in the same area. J'town Cemetery is not a very large one. I'm fairly confident that this Charles R. Robinson is the son of Ray and Maggie but what I don't know for sure is if he is your Charles R. Robinson. You might contact the Jefferson County Library and see if one of the volunteers might look for his obituary. (He died 2 Mar 1989) A DC this late would have to be purchased from the state where he died.

Per Chester R. Robinson
If the Chester Ray Robinson, b 19 Dec 1924 and died in OH in 2002 is the one you are researching, I would be happy to see what I can find. An Ancestry Tree shows his father as George Robinson.

RE: Looking for answers
Re Chester R. Robinson - b 7 Oct 1924
It's been a long time since I worked on Jeffersontown Cemetery but I did walk it and Chester's tombstone was LIKELY right next to Ray and Maggie. In addition, I subscribe to Ancestry and find Chester living in Jeffersontown (on Watterson Trail) in 1940 listed as the son of Ray and Margaret P. Robinson. Also in the household is a sister, Evelyn M. and a brother, James E. Robinson. Again in 1930 he's living in Jefferson Co., KY with parents Ray and Maggie. Siblings are the same. KY Births give his mother as Maggie Sattleny (Satterly). I see a Chester Ray Robinson born 19 Dec 1924 who died in Ohio in 2002. This can't be the same Chester. KY births show THAT Chester R. as the son of Maudie Ratliff.
