Bio and Links
My name is Dace Ann Dorough Martin
I live in Longview, Texas. I have been doing geneology for over 20 years. Surnames researched are Dorough, Martin, Davis, Jones, Weemes, Dillard, Musslewhite, Patrick, Darnell just to name a few. I have visited many cemeteries and wish I would have photograped every one I visited. It seems once you leave a cemetery you find out someone else is buried there that you needed the information on. This site is wonderful for that reason as well as other reasons. I also love babysitting my grandchildren and spending time with my family. I wish everyone that reads this a very blessed day!

It was J.A. & Eliza Shattuck at Sardis-Edgefield Cemetery in Cherokee County. I added their photos and mentioned you might want to update their memorials based on the information in the photos.

Since the headstones for this infant and Eleanor, supposedly the mother, are so much the same but are 25 years apart, could they have been replaced at a later date and the date on the baby's stone has the year wrong? There is a 3 year gap between child 5 & 6, 1853-1856, so the date could possibly be 1855. Will search further to see if I can find anything. Thanks for linking them. Pam

This headstone doesn't make sense - says he is the infant son of DD and Eleanor, but right next to it is Eleanor's headstone that says she died in 1860! Tis a puzzle!

I added the headstone photos of Eliza and J.A. You may want to update the DOB and DOD based on their headstones.

Have posted a picture of headstone so we now have the dates and names correct.
