|Cynthia Plahuta||Dorrington & Johnson at Mount Emblem|
Elm Lawn Cemetery is just a stone's throw south of Mount Emblem, where my parents are buried, so I stopped in there today to try to get photos for you. Failed.
The building is all locked up to have some extreme renovations done -- it's called The Abbey. There's an old The Abbey & a new The Abbey and your requests for people in the old one.
I stopped in at the office to see if there was ANY way that they'd allow me access to take photos. Nope, no way no how.
Unfortunately, given the bad economy, the cemetery no longer has the number of maintenance workers that they used to have, so they could give me no idea as to when the building would be accessible again other than to say "it'll be a loooooooong time."
I did take photos all around the outside of The Abbey if you'd like me to post one of those until people are allowed back inside again. Just lemme know.
Also lemme know if you want me to "unclaim" your listings. I visit my father once a month and have to drive by Elm Lawn to get to Mount Emblem, so I'm perfectly willing to keep driving by The Abbey every so often to see if it's open yet.
|Janice McCoy||RE: Transfer of memorial|
I am sorry, I just seen the request so I transfered it for you.
Thank you for being patient. Jan
I stopped in at the office today at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, here in Riverside, CA. As per cemetery records, they have no records regarding Edwin Johnson or his wife, Mary. The man who runs the office did a look up for me and there was no record of Edwin or his wife being buried there. I was told today that the Neptune Society (many years ago) shared the crematory space with Evergreen and thats possibly why the death record you have for Edwin Johnson states he was cremated here.
If you would like, I can try Olivewood Cemetery, its the second oldest cemtery in town and I have to go there anyway to get another location for someone else.
Please use the 'Suggest A Correction' on any of my memorials to contact me. I regret I had to turn my messages off on this site due to a couple of really uncool members.
Please let me know, its no trouble.

I don't remember seeing a Juanita Johnson in there; the nice lady let us in there after she got off work and I didn't want to keep her any longer than she wanted. I still have some photos that I haven't uploaded, though, so I'll keep an eye out for that name. Cheers - Sam

I had the luck to be taking pictures at Forest Hill Cemetery when one of the employees offered to take me to see the inside of the abbey. I think your Lewis David Johnson is in there. I am posting a picture.

Chris, If you know of links for the Austin families recorded in this cemetery, let me know and I will hook them up. Jim
I've been out to Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens in Olathe, Ks...there is a "temporary" grave marker for Tiffani, courtesy of the cemetery. I took a pix of that.
Do you want to wait until a permament marker is in place or do you want me to post the pix of the temporary marker?
I'll be glad to go back when the permament marker is there!

You are very welcome...glad I could provide it.
|T.W.Hess||RE: Hess Family|
Hi, my name is Terry Hess. I had a relative named Harry Hess, born in Illinois in 1883. The only info I have on his wife was a name, Mable J., born in Colorado about 1895. You can email me at email@example.com if you want. My Harry was the grandson of Henry Hess, who was an older brother of my great-grandpa Nathan Hess.

For future reference, please request the transfer through the edit button. Otherwise, I have to look up the file, and this is much slower.
