Hi - you asked about the plaque on his gravestone - it says "Revolutionary Soldier 1775 1783Placed by Catherine Ard Chapter DAR." He was one of my 4th great grandfathers. Judy

RE: Nancy L. Bost
I am sorry offhand I do not know if there is a unmarked grave next to hers. I checked and there is no listing for her husband in the Fulton Co. Inscription Book; the only other Bost buried in the county according to the book is Tressie Arlene Bost who is buried in Agnos Cemetery. There are also no Bost's listed in any of the cemeteries in the neighboring county Oregon Co., MO.

I will make a note to check next to her grave the next time I am in that cemetery.

RE: H.C. Polk
Have just read this message. I am so sorry....I do not live in Hot Springs nor anywhere near and am unable to travel, so chances of visiting the family cemetery are zero. I do remember hearing my husband's grandmother mention her sister, Sallie, but that is all. Wish I could help.

If you all are trying to find Nancy in the Bost family, that is the wrong line. Nancy was a DeWitt from Missouri. Lots of information about that family on

Hazel Banks Allen told me that the Hugh Bigham family was from Tennessee....I think she said around Nashville but not sure. I have looked them up online and there is some information there. But no way to check for accuracy.

RE: H.C. Polk
I am sorry....I do not live near Hot Springs any longer and can no longer travel. I wish I could help. Grandmother Banks ( Margaret) never told us much of anything about her family. Most of what I know was told to me by her daughter, Hazel Banks Allen. My husband tried to work on their family history before his death but did not make much headway. Since he passed, I have heard from some of the Banks cousins but nothing about the Bosts.

I meant put in a request for a photo and in the box where you can type in a message ask that someone take a close up of the writing so you can read it or that they transcribe the inscription for you.

I am sorry, but I don't know anyone in Hot Springs to help you. It is probably going to be a bible verse or poem again though. Perhaps you can put in a request on Find A Grave asking someone to read the stone for you.
