I've been interested in genealogy since my granddad's cousin gave a copy of my great grandmother's obit to me when I was around 10. She and I share the same name and I wanted to find out all about her when I grew up. Can't say I've grown up and a person who only lives 22 years doesn't leave much of a footprint, but I've traced Cynthia Conkey Shearer's family back to the original immigrants of 1718 and settlers of Pelham, Massachusetts about 20 years later.

I'm always glad to assist others when I can. Feel free to use any information or photos I post if it's relevant to your research.

RE: Joshua Armstrong grave photo
Sure you can use the photos. Take a look at the satelitte version of the map and you can see its very accessible. The nearest dog came over and inspected me but nobody seemed to mind me being there and a number of vehicles passed in the hour or so I was there. Bill

Yes, you may use the photo for your family tree.

I couldn't get the link to work.
My grandfather was Silas Igo Shearer. There's a book of his Civil War letters "Dear Companion"

Amanda's headstone is in need of restoration. I am a gravestone conservator fully trained and certified in working with historic gravestones. Let me know if you would like a free estimate to restore this stone.

Thanks for adding all of these memorials and photos. I believe your Conkey's came to the USA with the Peebles, my family. I know Mary Peebles my 5th great aunt married Alexander Conkey.

Clyde Hunt
Hi Cindi,
Sorry I am not related. Glenn Abby is near where I work, so whenever I have the extra time I record a few memorials. I found a Clyde Franklin Hunt in listed the CA Death Index and attached some of the information. Let me know if it is incorrect and I will correct this for you. Interestingly, it lists his place of death as Siskiyou. I don't know what it means, but it's not someplace I know around here. If you would like, I can transfer him to you. Oh by the way, by the sound of your message I understood that Hazel was his 2nd wife. Hope this helps.
Have a great day,
