I'm researching my family roots which are located in Juana Diaz, Puerto Rico. |
I've submitted a few grave sites and plan to add the photo of the grave site shortly. In the Cemetary of Juana Diaz, there is a "Old" section and across the street a "New" section. In the old section, no records are kept. If you want to find someone, you need to contact a family member or search by yourself. In this old section the common burial practice was to bury one in a tomb, holding anywhere from one to eight remains. In the hispanic culture, a woman kept her maiden name after she was married. If she was a widow, the term Vda. de (husbands last name) would be used. i.e. Maria Rodriguez Vda De Burgos, Maria's name followed by her late husbands last name. I tried to code each tomb, so that you can see whom is buried with whom, but it wouldn't import in the excell file I used. The records I added were from the actual tombs, since there were multiple burials in the same tomb, if you find your relative, e-mail me and I'll list the others in the tomb for you.
I will try to add at least one photo for every listing, if you find your relative with no photo, e-mail me and I'll add it next. These photos were about 2-3 GB files reduced to 250 KB,
if you need a higher resolution photo, let me know.
This work was accomplished by myself and my wife, Arlene Rodriguez (Bobrowski).
