You meet all kinds of people on Findagrave... most of whom are helpful, kind, and polite. Just spending a few minutes a day on Findgrave can provide a great deal of information to others. My purpose on Findagrave is to share genealogical information.... . and then there are those with mandates... I could write a dissertation about them... well, you know. LOL... Thank you for your co-operation! If I can assist anyone, please contact me.
My father, David Kennedy, was an avid genealogical researcher, so you could say, this was one of my inherited interests. He started his search in 1959 after meeting then Senator John F. Kennedy in Washington, DC. He asked my father if we were Catholic or Protestant Kennedys, after which Senator Kennedy suggested that since we were not Catholic, we must have entered the US via Northern Ireland. And the search continues...
Some of my direct lines are Kennedy,Clayton, Merritt, Head, Prothro, Crouch, Wright, Goodwin, Bledsoe, Breazeale, Smith, Guyton, Moorhead, Kirksey, Wyatt, Griffin, Richardson, Meyer, Johnston, Lott, Knox, Gaston, Barnett, Ray, Sharp, Alverson. I have been working on my genealogy since the 1990s. If I have a memorial which is in your family and not mine, I will be more than glad to transfer it to you. I always try to give credit to those who have done genealogical research ... just a very common courtesy.... Thanks y'all.

 | Jacksons in Alabama Hi Fran,
So, there is actually another Jackson in the family plot at Oak Hill Cemetery. It appears to be the first Frederick Jackson, Jr. The dates on the marker are Dec. 2, 1886-Dec. 15, 1886. If you make the memorial, I'll add the photo. If these infants are the children of F.M. Jackson and Miriam, they were really old, even by the standards in those days.
My branch of the Johnstons appear to be from Newberry, SC. Of course, when you get back before 1800, records get a little shady. My lineage is with Thomas Johnston and Elizabeth Dalrymple Johnston. They had a son, David Johnston (1768-1841) who moved to Georgia. David's grandson made his way to Tarentum, Alabama, which is near Brundidge and Troy. I was born in Dothan, but lived most of my life in Birmingham.
Do you, by chance, happen to come through Thomas Johnston's lineage?

 | RE: Ardie and Charles Fortune Hi Fran,
I have completed all links and have added all additional information.
I see by the flowers you left that they are your kin. Would you like me to transfer them to you? I'd be happy to.

 | RE: Jackson info Fran,
I'm even further back from that. Walter Mitchell who m. Rachel Appling's son Richard Mitchell is my line. Richard & Nancy Johns had Walter S. Mitchell. His first wife, Elizabeth Dabbs, is my line through their son John Dabbs Mitchell.
Glad you liked the articles. I will pass on anything else I run into.
