My dad's family has been in the Watauga Co, NC area ever since the founding of Hodges Gap. In addition to Hodges, I'm also connected to Norris, Lewis, Miller, Green/e to just name a few. |
My mom's family has been in Tama and Appanoose County, Iowa for many generations. Those lines include: Houghkirk, Wall, Dolph/Dewolf and Howland.

I have found Jesse Hodges' cemetery. I have jumped the gun and added Jesse and Nancy Storie Hodges without visiting the cemetery. I have spoken to the landowner and plan to visit tomorrow. I added a family photo of Jesse Hodges and thought you might be interested. 144826195

My ancestors are Greene, Watson and Hodges like yours. Childen of the Greene, Watson and Hodges family's migrated to Coshocton County, Ohio starting in 1920. I know many of their children, and I have been working with William Watson who was born in Ohio but is now living in Tennessee, with our genealogy, which connects through all these surnames. There is a tangled web of marriages among these surnames over the years, both in NC and in OH.

I am a descendant of William & Mary Miller. I noticed you stated that her parents were Thomas Eldridge & Martha Bolling of Albemarle, Va. I don't think this is accurate. William & Mary were long married by 1755. Plus, this would've made the Virginia Mary around 13 years old. I don't see one of Va.'s most prominent families allowing that. Also it's stated Va. Mary married Thomas Branch. Upper crust Virginia families rarely married out of their class either. Though it would be very awesome to say I was related to Pocahontas, I seriously don't think its a reality.
I has been told through generations that William came to NC from England. He worked and saved money to send for his wife Mary. My grandfather said he was English.
Thanks for your time and attention! - Amy Chester Melton

You left the following message under the flower section of Thomas Clingman Hodges memorial #76326527:
,He was acutally born Oct. 15, 1873 and died March 20, 1960.
Added: Oct. 7, 2011
This is not correct. He is NOT listed on the 1880 census with his parents and siblings. If he was born in 1873 he would have been on there listed as 7 years old.
Please do not leave notes in the flower section, per Find a. Grave guidelines. Send a SAC and have info added to the bio, if info is actually correct.

I'm new to Find-a-Grave. Does anyone have a source for Christian Lewis's parents? I've heard John and Mary Hedrick LEWIS, but don't know where to start with which "John"?? I'm related through William Rufus Lewis.
|Charles E. Carroll||Russell Cunningham|
Thanks for the link info. I have contacted the manager of Russell's memorial and provided the memorial numbers for his parents.

Jamie,The corner is overgrown;but I don't believe he is buried there. According to relatives he might be in Mississippi;but that's a guess.

I see you've posted a note on Memorial #11029570, Sarah J. Lewis. Is she an ancestor of yours? If so I'd be happy to transfer that memorial to you, and her husband and daughter.

Please send links to family through the edit tab. I don't see them if just left on a flower. I will go back and find family.
