|J. Binder||Thomas J. Ward, b. 1846|
Paula - Thanks for the message. He has been on my list to go back and "clean up and fill in" for awhile. When transferring info from his DC to my tree on Ancestry awhile back I had to pick it all apart to see what had happened, and I came to the same conclusion you and others have regarding his parents vs. the informant's parents. I've tidied up the bio on his memorial, and added a mention of his Civil War service, but would like to go back later and add more on that topic.

I saw you put the memorial to Sallie McArthur in St. Elmo Cemetery. Are the McArthurs family or do you have information concerning Sallie? She was a good friend of my gggrandmother and I have a couple of letters from her to Pennie. Her brother was a friend of Pennie's brother and they served in the same company in the War Between the States. Just interested to know if any of the letters Pennie wrote to her have survived.

I would like to know if there is a headstone for Sallie Houck and if so is it readable?

I would be interested in knowing if this memorial could be for Margie Richmond buried in St. Elmo Cemetery. She died in 1903 and I wondered if the stone could be eroded enough that a "c" could be mistaken for a "g". Her name was Margie Margaret Mayo Richmond. Would this be possible? Would love to hear from you.

Thomas Wards burial location was assumed when I entered his memorial. I am very happy to load any info you may have even if it is extensive.
I believe the scant info I had was just from other online sources, cant remember for sure just where.
But if you have been studying this for years, I believe we should use your info.
Please tell me where Thomas is buried and I will change his memorial as well as any other info you wish to include, even links, etc.
Hope you will have some photos too.
Thanks a bunch,
