Bio Photo I'm a stay-at-home housewife and mother on the Cherry Hill side of Mount Laurel, NJ. I've got a deep passion for history and genealogy, and love doing family tree research and wandering through cemeteries. I have temporarily removed myself from being a photo volunteer, but will re-volunteer once I am again able to do so.

RE: Abraham Johnson at Colestown
Thank you Gail for making the effort to look at Colestown Cemetery. I still hope we'll find the gravestones of Abraham and Sarah someday.

RE: Abraham Johnson
Hi Gail-

Just a friendly reminder. I have had some real breakthroughs with my Johnson research. Seems like Edith Lippincott Troth family really rescued the Johnson kids when Abraham and his wife died. Abram (Jr) lived with her son Joseph E. Troth and even moved with him to Bordentown after he married Rebecca Stratton.

Joseph and Sarah the younger of the three Johnsons kids lived with the widow Edith her other 6 children. Edith's daughter Elizabeth married Samuel Engle and took in another orphan named Charlotte Hall. Eventually Charlotte married Abram Johnson!

Amazing how life worked out for hes orphans. The Lippincott's were very kind and generous.

Regards,
Wayne

RE: Abraham Johnson
Hi Gail-

In studying Colestown Cemetery I saw that the daughter of Samuel and Edith Lippincott Troth, Agnes is buried in Colestown next to her husband Amos Coles.

I have seen all kinds of connections between Abraham's family and the Lippincotts but no blood relationships! Guess they were really good "friends."

Abraham Johnson
Hi Gail-

I could really use your help in solving a mystery.
Abraham Johnson and his wife are buried in Colestown Cemetery. We have never found his wife's name in any records. I am optimistic that their gravestones are still readable. Abraham (88253071) was born about 1770 and died 18 Jun 1827. His wife (88253128)died 16 May 1826. They also lost a child (93059489) who died 9 Dec 1810.
The information from the gravestones could help us immensely with at least her first name. With date of birth/death we may be able to determine her surname.

I appreciate any help you can give us!

Sincerely,

Wayne Andrews

Mabel Kreyns - Evergreen, Tucson
Gail,
We transferred the memorial page to you but we ask one thing. Do not allow our photo of Mabel's headstone to be used on any subscription service that charges a fee. We walked the cemetery as volunteers and received no salary. Our photos are meant to be free to the viewer.
I am glad you found your loved one. That is what this free website is all about.
We would have added more information on her page but the free online birth and death certificates are available up to 1960.

Thank you so much for the picture of Nathan Haines in the Colestown Cemetery. I am wondering if I can use this photo on my ancestry.com family tree. I will of course cite your name as the source.
