Bio and Links
Bio Photo I love the discovery of information about people from my past, where they lived, children, parents. I love walking the cemeteries. What a peaceful place. Although I'm aware not everyone feels that way. Probably here, everyone understands what I mean.

I look forward to adding the information that I have and continuing to search for what I don't.

Would it help you, if I took several close-up pictures of this stone?

RE: Amanda Collins Loggins
Guess you got my latest update on her, but if not I found she was born as Amanda Southern and married Benjamin Thomas Collins before she married Saunders Loggins. So, her birth name on her record should be Southern and believe her parents were Malory Southern and his 1st wife Bethania Bennett.

Am not related, just like to track down folks and who they married, their parents, etc. I collect information on folks and send it to Find A Grave members to update their burial records. My maternal ancestors are from Surry County and since Stokes County (created in 1777) was once part of Surry I often find people connected to us who lived in Stokes. Same for Yadkin County (created in 1850) which was part of Surry.

I entered an update in your "edits" tab for you to enter her maiden name as Collins.

Menard Tombstone
I am so sorry it took so long to send this photo, but "life got in the way". When I got time, the Holy Rosary Church was having a Corpus Christi celebration involving a walk from the church to the cemetery. I also discovered that the cemetery book was missing from the shelf at church. It seemed the caretaker had taken it home for the weekend. So I had to wait until today. The grave was not at Holy Rosary Cemetery. I called Calvary Cemetery and was told the location there. My husband took a picture and I mounted it on the memoriam for Joseph.

A very interesting thing happened at the Calvary Cemetery. I was looking for the site and noticed a man and 2 small children also looking for graves. He passed by and I said that some graves are sure hard to find. He asked whose grave was I searching for. I replied Menard. He said. "Oh,are you related?" I told him no and explained why I was looking. He said he was a Menard. He took me right to the grave and said it was his grandfather's. His name is Harley. I went to school with my sister. He gave me his professional card. If you are interested in contacting him let me know. He said he would be glad to talk with you. Contact me at
