Great Great Grandma "Liinda" Hello, My name is Laura and I was working on a family tree on www.familytreenow.com. While I was entering information, I was using my findagrave virtual cemetery and saw that you posted Malinda Payton Carr as your great great grandma. I believe she is mine too. My grandmother Roena was Lucian's daughter. So, I just thought I would reach out and say 'hi".
RE: Lash family Thank you for your reply. Since I sent you that message back in July I have gotten in touch with Earl W & Barbara Lash. Have talked with them several times. They were able to give me some information on Cynthia Vance Lash, my grandfather's half sister. I got from the library there in Harrisonville the obituaries of Cynthia & Edward Franklin Lash. I made copies & sent them to Earl & Barbara. They should get them yesterday or today Oct. 4th. I am trying to find out where Cynthia was born. It appears from the obituaries that she was born somewhere in southern Missouri. Earl does not know where she was born. I would like to get in contact with some one who is working on the Lash Family Tree so that they might have more information. I am not on face book & not sure how to do it. I will try to get in touch with Earlene by phone & maybe she will be able to give more information. I think I have just about figured out where Cynthia & Frank Lash were married and next spring I plan on going to Illinois to look for a marriage license.
Cynthia Vance Lash I am seeking info on Cynthia Vance Lash. She is my grandfather's half sister. We were told that Cynthia's maiden name was White. Her mother Mahulda Jane Hurst was first married to a John vance, they were divorced & Mahulda married a William White.
Do you know how the name Vance got placed on Cynthia's memorial page? I noticed that Vance is not listed on her Headstone. I called the library & they e-mailed to me her obituary & there is not a Vance listed on her obituary.
Do you know if the name Vance was supplied by a member of the family? Do you know how I can get in touch with any member of Cynthia's family?
If you can help me in any was I would really appreciate it. Thank You, Alice Hurst
RE: McNeese-griffin cedarvale I guess I already transferred giffin to you. and McNeese memorials aren't mine. any other names in your list of interest, let me know and I'll send your way. will look at woodson county McNeese and giffin to see if I have any of that name.
Hornsby Cemetery There are some people buried in the cemetery that are not on your list. Some have tombstones there and some not. James J. Brock and his wife Priscilla Wilmott Brock are buried there. James does not have a stone, but Priscilla did a few years ago. Next to Priscilla to her right is, Emery McMillan, her grandson, no stone. Joel Brock is also buried there, I think his tombstone might have ended up in a pile at the side of the cemetery.
RE: Attelia Hornsby That would be the presumption, given the Henry County Marriage record of Brinkley and Attelia, and Brinkley C's headstone and the census records. When I first found the census records listing Brinkley C, I had assumed he was Brinkley and Esther Falls Hornsby's child, but she had been dead too long, and when I went to the cemetery, Brinkley C's headstone says son of B and AW Hornsby. The dates are hard to read on it, but he is listed on the 1850 census as 1 and the 1860 census as 11, so I am sure it says 1849, and the Febuary is pretty clear.
