Bio Photo So Many Ancestors....So Little Time..
I was born in N.C. a long time ago and have lived in VA. for quite some time.
I enjoy researching civil war soldiers and their families and live in the Heart of the Confederacy.
I enjoy painting with acrylics, especially Old Homeplaces..Beach Scenes..Old Depots, any OLD buildings and such!
I have been Following the Periwinkle in Henry County, VA. and surrounding areas for over 25 years and have enjoyed every minute. :O)
There are many soldiers in my virtual Confederate Cemetery here on Findagrave.
If I can help you with anything, please feel free to ask me.
If you want me to transfer a memorial Please Include Your Findagrave # and go to Edit and ask me there.
I want to thank all the people that have helped me with my research over the years.
Two are Laura Rust and Eugene Landreth who helped my Mom and I when we first started our quest in the 1980s.
The "stories" are what make our ancestors on findagrave come alive once more.

To Forget Ones Ancestors Is To Be A Brook Without A Source, A Tree Without A Root.....

Dear Ancestor,
YOUR TOMBSTONE STANDS AMONG THE REST
NEGLECTED AND ALONE
THE NAME AND DATE HAVE WORN OFF
THE WEATHERED MARBLE STONE
IT REACHES OUT TO ALL WHO CARE.
IT'S NOW TOO LATE TO MOURN
YOU DID NOT KNOW THAT I'D EXIST
YOU DIED....AND I WAS BORN
YET EACH OF US ARE CELLS OF YOU
IN FLESH, IN BLOOD, IN BONE.
OUR HEARTS CONTRACT AND BEAT A PULSE
ENTIRELY NOT OUR OWN
DEAR ANCESTOR, THE PLACE YOU FILLED
SOME HUNDRED YEARS AGO
SPREADS OUT AMONG THE ONES YOU LEFT
WHO WOULD HAVE LOVED YOU SO
I WONDER HOW YOU LIVED AND LOVED.
I WONDER IF YOU KNEW
THAT SOMEDAY I WOULD FIND THIS PLACE
AND COME TO VISIT YOU.....

Find A Grave gives us an "Unknown" choice for burials or cremations, etc. and if it's a known fact that these people are dead, and they will most likely never be officially linked to any particular burial place, they also have a right to be remembered and to be linked to their other family members.
I will gladly link those who have an unknown status.
That can easily be changed if they are proved to be in any particular place.
They were somebody too, and deserve to be remembered.
If you send me a request and I do not address it within a few days, please re-send!
If you re-send and still get no response, go ahead and list my memorial on here, because I'm probably dead. :)

RE: Elisabeth r Potts Blum
What is listed on family search is about 1822 for her birth and 1920 for her death. 12 August 1820 for George's birth and there isn't a death date. Just says deceased.

Dee,
These are my great-grandparents and I have the info on all the kids. Will you transfer their memorials, #72181806 and #72181810,respectively, to me so I can add the additional children as well as their parents.

Thanks,

Pat Gardner

RE: A. B. & Effie Bell Beverage
Actually, they are listed in two different cemeteries, one as A. B. and the other as Asbury Boude Beverage. I have also notified the other lady to transfer to me and once I have all the information with one or the other, I will delete the other one.

thanks for the transfer.

Pat

Memorial # 68554204
Hi! I just came across your wonderful information about Elizabeth Fourreau. I'm trying to prove that Mary Anne Fontaine is her daughter and not Sarah Wade's. Years ago my family paid a researcher to do our genealogy and she said she found in "The Virginia Society Documents" found in the Saint Louis Public Libary, page 119, that Sarah was her mother-also Peter, jr. But I have looked at other sources like ancestry.com and they all say it's Elizabeth Fourreau but, of course, there are no census records. Where did you find your information? Was it from a personal diary, church records, etc.? I really want to view that so I have absolute proof. Thank you so much for all your work!

DRAPER FAMILYIN HENRY CO. VA
Dee, I see that you have contributed to many Draper gravesites. My father's grandfather was William Bead, ggf Thomas D.A., s/o Rev Thomas D.,

I am looking for a strong connection between these two and William Bead. Having a Difficult time locating a census or any other record.

Can you help me?
