My home town is Westport, Co Mayo, Ireland.|
I joined FAG while researching my Ancestors who emigrated to Chicago.
I have realised my dream - travelled to Chicago and visited 3 of the graveyards where my Ancestors are buried.
Most of my Memorials/Cemeteries are in Ireland. If you find a relative and wish to add/change information,please feel free to contact me.
Most of my Memorials have Graveshots. I flower all my Memorials and link them with relative's. Ones that may not have Graveshots are my own relatives where I have not located their resting spot, although I know the Cemetery.
I am happy to transfer Memorials to Family Members, however my photographs are copyright and I would like to be notified should anyone require a copy of same.
Thank You to Jim and Tammy who have helped me find the resting place of my Lavelle Family in NY.
In the early part of 2012 I set up the Mayo Genealogy Group in Castlebar, we have monthly meetings in the National Museum of Country Life, Turlough.
We have set up a Facebook Page, if you would like to join and post queries about your Mayo Ancestors check out our page.

Dympna: Thanks for leaving flowers at this memorial in Browns Church Cemetery, Will Co., IL. I am curious...do you have any connections to this cemetery, about 25 miles southwest of Chicago? There are numerous Irish surnames here among predominately German families. Just wondering. Thanks again! Bruce.
|herbie89||RE: Re: Morris Tomb, Bohermore, Galway|
Hi Dympna, I have now done that! I was not given that option before, probably it was because my request for famous status was pending. I still have to enter the full bio. Best wishes, Herbie

Thank you so much for photographing the grave of Sgt. Patrick Nevin. The pictures that you took are beautiful. I am very grateful to you. God bless.
|John Hughes||Thank You|
Dympna, thanks for the great photos. I'm trying to get my cousin in Athlone to get active with Find A Grave. I'll send him the link to your photos so he can witness the network in action. I saw Tammy a couple of weeks ago and she mentioned you were in Chicago. My wife is from Chicago. Hope you had a good trip. Thanks again.
|John Hughes||Photo Request|
My name is John Hughes and I am a friend of Tammy Houston and a volunteer working with her on Restland in Dallas. I am making a photo request in an unusual way.
An Irish cousin just posted to his family tree an obituary of a relative in Castlebar (died in 2006). I have been encouraging him to give Find A Grave a try. He lives in Athlone with most of his relatives buried in Cornmagh and could really do a lot of good work in that cemetery.
I just created a memorial for Francis Dowling (#118051237) in Castlebar with the hope you might have a photo of his monument. All with the idea that this may be a good way to introduce him to Find A Grave. If not, I'll send him the link anyway and transfer the memorial when he joins.
Let me know if you want me to make a Photo Request in the usual way.
I saw Tammy a couple of weeks ago as we were running down some loose ends at Restland. Temperature was in the mid-90's so it was a short stay.
Thanks so much,

I rather like Gert having flowers from Ireland. No need to remove them. I'm just getting started with Find a Grave and am still sort of feeling my way around. I appreciate the flowers you've left.

Dympna, Thank you for leaving a rose for my grandmother Graham (8042813). Are you acquainted with or a relative of the Moore/Graham family?
Thank you again,
