| Bio and Links | I became interested in genealogy back when i was in College many years ago and took a class on it when i grew up in Alabama. I think my interest started because my great grandmother had kept a list of family members with all the dates on my mothers side way back to before the Civil War so that was a nice start. She also had a big box of old family letters and papers that were over 100 years old.
I didn't do a lot back then and a lot of time passed. I have lived in North Carolina for many years now. A cousin of mine once removed got interested in genealogy and sent me an invite to join ancestry.com which got me interested again and I have been researching off and on for almost 2 yrs now.
Also another researcher I knew about who wrote my grandfather many years ago lived near me in NC so I contacted him and have gotten some info from him as a long time researcher.
I very much enjoy finding out info about ancestors of mine and especially finding old photos. Seeing family resemblances really shows how genetics can really play a huge part in where we came from. | |

 | RE: Dixon Graves at Bethsaida Cem You're welcome! The reason I went out there is to try and list all of the marked graves on here. In many cemeteries, other transcribers go in and list only the older graves. Therefore, FindAGrave has a partial listing on many of their cemeteries. I like to add all of the rest, as I know that people are searching for their graves, especially if they live far away.

 | RE: Rufus E. Mitchell Thanks for the reply. I think you're probably correct on the middle name issue.

 | Rufus E. Mitchell Craig,
Thanks for your work on this findagrave memorial. Rufus was 1st cousin to my grandmother. I have entered quite a few family members of Rufus Mitchell on findagrave. Could you link him to his parents for me?
John T. Mitchell's memorial number is: 31774015 Louisa Janes Mitchell's memorial is: 31773962
Also one question about his middle name: I have records, put together by another cousin, saying his name was Elzie as opposed to Eldridge. Any insight into these differences would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance for your help in this regard,

 | thank you so much Mr Dixon, thank you so much for putting the picture of the cemetery on my sons page. It made me smile to know someone was thinking about my son Jared. Continue blessing others with the special thoughts you are leaving. Thanks again.

 | RE: Wesley Givens Hi Craig - I did notice the death year is different on the headstone. I had to go back and double check that I didn't make a mistake. I have a copy of his death certificate, so the 1928 is correct. Obviously, the marker has been recently placed or replaced. I was shocked to see such a pretty, new marker. Thanks again and if you do have any more Givens markers, I'd be greatful for the pictures. Have a good one! Judi | | | | [View all messages...] |
