Over a decade ago, I started researching my family heritage. During this time, I have come to the realization that there are amateur methods, and professional methods. Today I am a member of the Association of Professional Genealogists and hold a Certificate in Genealogical Research from Boston University. Whether you want me to conduct your research, or point you in the right direction, I am ready to assist.|

Oops, in my original message, I mentioned a Roxie Bemis. I accidently meant that for a different photo request of Roxie Dibbley, not Roxie Bemis, (mixed up the two when writing the message) who is also in the cemetery. Please just ignore that part of the message.

I am the one who uploaded the photographs and just wanted to let you know that for the ones that you can barely read due to moss and junk, I wrote the inscription or part of the inscription (like the dates) as a caption on the photograph.
Also for Roxie Bemis, her death year is 1964 (on the grave no one filled in the rest yet)

|Gayle ||RE: Big THANK YOU!|
You are very welcome. It was my pleasure. I've been waiting for the snow to melt!

I will try to get the pictures of them as soon as the snow is gone. I know who to call now to get the cemetery open.

Thanks for pointing that out to me. I didn't notice that. I can only think that I put the memorial on first and then the obit awhile later. I went ahead and changed it to Abner which was in the obituary.

|Don M||Charles Bemis at Wunder's|
It was a pleasure to find and post Mr Bemis' grave marker from Wunder's Cemetery. It is always special when I am able to find a grave marker someone has a requested, and it is so much better when the person responds after the request is fulfilled, so thanks for that!
I wanted to let you know that there is also a Viola Bemis buried at Wunder's. She is in the same section as Charles but not next to him and there is apparently not a grave marker. I might be able to find out her age at death right now I know she died on March 24, 1972. Grave markers often disappear at Wunder's because of the sandy soil (it is located very near the original shoreline of Lake Michigan) An inventory taken in 1985 of the cemetery does not show a marker, and I didn't find one when I walked in that area. Her plot located in Section 10ra Grave 145. I have not yet made a memorial, so if you would like to, just let me know.

It was a sad ending to a man who put his life in peril during a war.

You're welcome! He was definitely speaking to me, I had no idea where he was, I went in knowing where someone else was. For some reason I stopped on my way out, looked left, and saw a stone I couldn't read, walked over and it was him! I scrubbed it with a wire brush to remove all of the petrified? lichen. Lucky day! I truly believe their spirits guide me.
