Bio and Links
Bio Photo I became active in researching my genealogy in 1997. In the process of tracing the ancestry of my four grandparents, I found many cemeteries that did not have a master list of those buried there or at least a current one. The first such cemetery that I surveyed was Grace Lutheran Cemetery near the little village of Ophiem in Henry County, Illinois in 1998.

My genealogy work continues and I've surveyed several other cemeteries since Ophiem most notably Ash Hollow Cemetery near Lewellen, NE. My current project is to obtain as many obituaries as I can for those interred at Ash Hollow.

Genealogy is an exciting and rewarding endeavor. I am continually amazed at the generosity of the genealogy community and Find A Grave is such a fine example of what this community can do. I'm grateful that I can offer something to repay all the kindness and help that I have received since I began my research by contributing to Find A Grave!

Minnie Pollan- SWC Cemetery
I just took your photo request for Minnie Pollan. She is not buried with Frank. Also, I have the book for Southwest City Cemetery, there is no Frank Pollan listed. There is Benjamin F., Fern, Mary J., Richard, Robert, Rosa, and Sterling. If I can be any more help, please let me know. Anita

Mary Ellen Wilkening Gelston, # 55650472
Hi Brian,

Thank you for the edits and for following up with the further research regarding Lindhorst, which I am sure is correct. It's always nice to see a memorial with a completed header.

I don't know how Mary came up on my radar except that I tend to fan out from my own memorials and go where it leads me, passing along info as I come across it. I do manage some Winkeings, so I guess that's it.

I do see one typo ... "Mary Gelston came with parents, brother, and 3 sisters to American when she was age 11 ...." should say "America".

Thanks a lot for adding the info, and also for your response. It is a reminder to me that I need to do a little more work on this family too.

Enjoy the weekend!

John Jack Mevich's memorial, Ash Hollow-THANK YOU!
You are a Godsend, THANK YOU for creating his memorial and adding his obituary. He was a brother to my gg grandma and researching the Mevich name has been a very difficult task; the name has been spelled at least 5 different ways :/ So finding this memorial with the obituary has helped tremendously! Keep up the good work, it is so helpful to others.
