|I have been actively adding information to Find-a-Grave since the beginning of 2013. Most of the memorials under my care are my direct ancestors, but I would be happy to accept corrections, additions, etc. (I have created a few new memorials when I had a photo of a headstone that I couldn't match to an existing memorial and would gladly transfer them to a relative.)|
In February of 2013 I was able to visit and take a number of photos at Fort McKavett cemetery in Texas. All my uploaded pictures have been cropped to focus on the headstone, enhanced to bring out the details and resized to approx. 200KB. If you would like a copy of the original (approx. 5MB), please just email me and I would be happy to send it (or a slighty smaller version ;-) to you!

Hi. I seemed to have skipped over your e-mails regarding info on Mary and her son Christopher Middleton, buried in Oak Ridge Cemetery, Springfield, IL. I added the info you requested. If you see anything I missed or you need to clarify further, please let me know. Sorry about the delay!

Carla, There may be a stone for her. It was hit and miss for the stones I found because of the overgrowth.
|Larry Bloom||Find A Grave Correction: Frederick Rice|
Carla, First let me make it clear that I didn't do any clearing at this Cemetery. I am a volunteer Photographer for Find A Grave and I went there trying to fulfill a request. This was 5 years ago. The Cemetery at that time was completely overgrown and in terrible condition. Before I wrote you I took a ride to the Cemetery to see if anything had been done. This Cemetery sits off the road and you must walk across a field to get to it. Right now I am unable to make that walk so I used binoculars. Sadly it doesn't appear that anything has been done since I was there. You would need tools a little Heavier than you mentioned to clear this Cemetery. The Township trustees should be responsible for maintaining the Cemetery, some townships take this more seriously than others. If I remember correctly five years ago one of those trustees was named Rice. I wrote him about the condition and how disrespectful he was being to his ancestors but got no response. I wish you luck if you attempt to get it cleaned. It is a shame because it is a beautiful spot out in the country. If you decide to visit it would be best when the vegetation is dead. When I was there the weeds were taller than me. Good luck with whatever you do.
Find A Grave contributor Carla Ferguson has made a suggestion to you regarding your Find A Grave memorial for Frederick Rice.

Larry, you said you would only read "Edit"s, so here goes. I have been sorting out my "Rice" relations (Frederick and Sarah are my 4th great grandparents, through Elizabeth) and trying to locate graves. So far I have added some relationship data to Find A Grave but would like to see a few more headstones. My question: do you know if any more work has been done on the Hardington Cemetery? Although I live in SW Missouri, I am considering a trip, bringing rake, weed-eater and crowbar. Or perhaps I could try contacting a local scout troop to take on the project? Any suggestions? Or have you already done all that can be done? Thank you for your work at the cemetery and pictures! Carla Stockdale Ferguson

I re-ordered the photos for William. Yes, I noticed the discrepancies on the obit for Melissa.....even the obituaries have different/ incorrect information so I think that's why it is important to show them as they were published. Makes you wonder sometimes if anything is ever 100% accurate! :)

|Jerry C. Goldsmith||John Luther Germany|
I forgot to ask, if this is the same Lena, do you know where she was buried?
|Jerry C. Goldsmith||John Luther Germany|
Can you tell me if John Luther Germany (findagrave # 92128916) was married to a Lena F Haggard. Lena was a distant cousin and Texas Marriages 1966-2000 show that a Lina (Lena) was married to a John L Germany on 1-19-1984.

I was fascinated with the story of how he ran away after being thwarted in love...and made a big difference out west.
Happy to hear from you!
Thank you for the name & links. I've updated her memorial.
