A Psalm Of Life
TELL me not, in mournful numbers, Life is but an empty dream ! — For the soul is dead that slumbers, And things are not what they seem.
Life is real ! Life is earnest! And the grave is not its goal ; Dust thou art, to dust returnest, Was not spoken of the soul.
Not enjoyment, and not sorrow, Is our destined end or way ; But to act, that each to-morrow Find us farther than to-day.
Art is long, and Time is fleeting, And our hearts, though stout and brave, Still, like muffled drums, are beating Funeral marches to the grave.
In the world's broad field of battle, In the bivouac of Life, Be not like dumb, driven cattle ! Be a hero in the strife !
Trust no Future, howe'er pleasant ! Let the dead Past bury its dead ! Act,— act in the living Present ! Heart within, and God o'erhead !
Lives of great men all remind us We can make our lives sublime, And, departing, leave behind us Footprints on the sands of time ;
Footprints, that perhaps another, Sailing o'er life's solemn main, A forlorn and shipwrecked brother, Seeing, shall take heart again.
Let us, then, be up and doing, With a heart for any fate ; Still achieving, still pursuing, Learn to labor and to wait. Henry W. Longfellow | |

 | RE: P.S... Hello Melinda,
The flag was already at Moses Stickney's grave site and it was fun finding and walking around that grave yard. I took photo's of all the graves and will be working on adding the names and photo's here.

 | RE: Kate and Zillai Stickney Hi Melinda, You're very welcome, glad to help. I also added the photo to the memorials of their two children, William & Charles. I took that photo last summer. I'm still not caught up with posting the photos I took last year. Sincerely, Ron Kinney | | | Anne S

 | Family Hallo,
Thank you for your message, I thought Edwin would have liked to have his Parents' Memorials sponsored.
I feel priviledged to have done so.
Today is His Angel day.
Time does go fly by us so quick...doesn't it?
Sending a smile your way.

Hi Melinda,
Thanks for the nice token message on my mom's memorial, as well as your kind message.
I have changed my email since we last emailed, so I will be contacting you soon.
We are doing well here. Thank you for asking.
Are you in the "upper" Michigan or "under the bridge", aka Trolls, LOL. We have had a very mild winder so far here in New England.
Hang in there, Spring will be here before we know it!
Your friend, Darlene

Hi Melinda,
I was going through my friends' list to see who I have not "flowered" in a while, and I'm so sorry I have not been to your memorials lately.
I hope all is well with you and yours.

 | RE: You Are So Kind
Hi Melinda,
You're most welcome and thank you so much for the message.
Usually when I sit down to visit on this site, I lose all track of time. I get to reading the bios and following the links until I simply run out of them. If I go to a memorial, I just have to leave a token. It's like visiting the cemeteries - I can't stop until either I'm exhausted or they shut the gates. LOL
Have a great evening! Fondly, SuseAdded by sniksnak on Jan 31, 2013 8:54 PM | | | Joseph Wilby
