Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am interested in all Muenks' in the USA and our distant cousins in Germany.

Learning of all decendants in the USA of Jacob Muenks and Sibilla Catherine who emigrated in 1841 to Loose Creek Missouri is a shared passion with many of the Muenks' still remaining in the Osage County area.

My immediate assignment after meeting with dozens of cousin Muenks' is to locate as many of Jacob Peter Muenks' decendants to present day. Wow, with 10 surviving kids and some of them quite productive in their own rights, this is quite some task to undertake.

I am starting research young (44 years old) so that I have volumes of information captured to pass along one day to my kids and their generation.

Jacob Peter Muenks
I am Susan Matsumoto; My Great Great Great Grandfather is Jacob Peter Muenks, married to Sebelia Katherina Bundmeuster. I found some old papers of my mother's and I'm trying to decipher all of this. My Great Great Grandfather is Peter Iven, married to Anne Gertrude Muenks. My Great Grandfather is John Peter Liberton, married to Cecilia Ann Iven. My Grandfather is Herman Stieferman, married to Kate Liberton. My father is Joseph Marcincak, married to Irene Stieferman. One of the papers has a Joe Muenks listed, at 4308 Rainbow drive, Jefferson City, MO. This is from a notice of Family Reunion of 1977. Are we related?

Muenks Family
Hi Joe --

Yes, my sister would be Mavis! Are you one of the Muenks who she has communicated with over the years?

We would love to hook up with you and share data and pictures. I did see a "Muenks Scroll" at Richard Muenks house back in 2004 when he and his wife hosted a Muenks potluck. We had just moved to Missouri and our Mom was in the grips of Alzheimer's so we didn't get much out of the gathering as we were so busy trying to keep track of her.

If you can send me your e-mail address, I can send you an invite to check out what we have up on - - the invite has to go thru their website.

So Mavis and I both live in Columbia -- I am at and Mavis is at (let's see if these addresses make it through or not). If they do, send me a note and I will give you are phone numbers.

There was a family Mass as St. Mary's Cemetery in early October and we met a bunch of Muenks there (Joe Muenks extended family and Annie Voshen Muenks family). We too have met some in Loose Creek -- they tend to come by and check you out if you stand around the graves long enough! We have a copy of the PBS documentary on the Muenks family and would love to share that with you.

And yes, Margaret (on the far left) was my grandmother. I have some pictures of your grandfather and even some of your great grandfather (I think).

We definitely need to talk!

Looking forward to hearing from you,
