I also do indexing for FamilySearch.org. We add about a million records per week. Go to their website and type in the birth information or death information you know. When you enter either date, use +/- a year or so. You can see census records through 1940 and find where they were living and their parent's names. Ohio, Texas, and Kentucky have birth certificates online. Ohio and Texas has death certificate through about 1970.

I use Findagrave to see if the parents are there and WorldConnect California Death Index. They have the death index online through 1997.

If all else fails, I search Google with the full name in quotes. I have been able to find old obituaries online that way.

It's when you click on the edit tab on the page and then 'suggest a correction...' or SAC.

I found his gravesite, added it, and have transferred it to you.

I didn't know much about my dad's grandparents either when I started on this site. My uncle gave me a family history book and my research was on. I have been able to link my family all the way to the Mayflower (and here I thought we were 'plain folks' jk). As I made the links, I have found numerous relatives across the country who were able to fill me in on their side of the family. My 4th great-grandfather had 200+ gr-grandchildren and I intend to have everyone of them linked to him.

I use Findagrave and Familysearch almost exclusively to find information. I'll see if I can help you link back to Kentucky. Red

Sry, the person who posted the personal photo would know. That would be Sherill Berry. Click on her name under the photo and you can leave her a message.

Hi Connie, thank you so very much for taking the excellent photos of Bert and Margaret Thompson. And thank you for all the extra photos you sent me. They are all just wonderful photos. I like the one you picked for the memorials. I have printed out all the others for my personal records. I sincerely appreciate you taking your time and effort to do all of these for me. Thank you again, Vicki
