I was back in Auvers a couple of months ago but I do not intend to go back there in the near future.
Maybe the best thing for you to do is try to get in touch with the "Office du Tourisme" or the "Mairie" of Auvers.
The email address of the "Office du Tourisme" is otsi.auvers@wanadoo.fr. I assume they should be able to reply in english.
I don't know if you have checked this page, but go to http://www.auvers-sur-oise.com/content/content3438152.html which is an introduction (in french) to the town, and you'll see they mention the name of the american painter Sprague-Pearce.
