Gootees in Sussex-Wicomico
I wanted to ask if you mind me linking some family members you have in the Sharptown area... I have Theo Gootee's first wife Ida Owens buried at Mt. Pleasant Church. I also have his obituary if you'd like to use that.

Thank you so very much for providing information as to the burial of Luther's wife, Priscilla G/C Morean. It really is frustrating when the burial isn't in a "known" cemetery. Your assistance in providing this information has been greatly appreciated :-) You and I share Luther as our 3rd great grandfather so it's very nice "meeting" you :-)

The memorials you created for Jacob M. & Martha E. (Fletcher) Gootee, buried in Bethel, Ssx. Co., DE
Hi. Last October, you created memorials for Jacob Martin Gootee (1861-1938) and Martha Ellen (Fletcher) Gootee (1861-1926), both who are buried in the same church cemetery in Bethel, Sussex Co., DE. You created their memorials in Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery. That church was renamed "Sailor's Bethel United Methodist Church" a few years back. If you check for it using the "Cemetery Lookup" option on Find A Grave (see third option on the "Actions" column at upper left of screen), simply type in "Sailors," then select DE, and that church's cemetery will readily come up. You'll find many memorials created for there, several nice pictures, and a photo of signs reflecting the church's name change. A photo of the State of DE historic marker for the church discusses the church's name change. I apologize for having accidentally created the wrong cemetery ("Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery") on Find A Grave last year. I tried to delete it after I discovered the name change. But, apparently once it was created, it can't be deleted. (I contacted Find A Grave shortly afterwards, to no avail.) At any rate, please copy and paste Jacob and Martha Gootee's memorials over to Sailor's Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery, then delete the ones you created at "Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery." I realize this is confusing. But, the other cemetery name is where everything is set up and in full use. I added a note to the home screen for the wrong cemetery name, though now and then people don't see it and create memorials there. By the way, there's also another church cemetery located a short distance from the "Sailor's one". Check for it listed as "Former Saint Johns U. P. Church Cemetery". I created that one, too (as I also did "Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery") - and you'll find photos and memorials there. By the way, with cemetery names on Find A Grave, it'll never accept apostrophes. That's why "Sailors" and "Johns" are spelled on Find A Grave as they are. Best regards, Dave Wilson PS: If any questions, don't hesitate to let me know.
