Dear Pastor Hilliker,

We can put a face on this man. He was a graduate of the U. S. Military Academy at West Point, Class of 1866. A career biography of him is given in entry #2151 in Cullum's Biographical Register of the Graduates of the Military Academy; the entry is on my site at http://bit.ly/Cullum2151.

Unfortunately, it's not a pretty face; fortunately most West Pointers are much better people than this. The circumstances of Lt. Fleming's dismissal from the Army recorded in that entry, are given in those General Orders (hiding under that "Per G. C. M. O. No. 52, A. G. O."), which I was able to find online, and have linked to from my page: embezzlements, thefts from enlisted men who entrusted their savings to him, and lies to cover it up.

Still, history is history, and enough time has gone by.

Best,
Bill Thayer

Hi Glenn,

Thank you for the transfer. I will leave this site as you entered it. I think it helps document the two burials!

Thank You!

Hooked On Family
RE: C T & Harriet Smith
Hello,

I received this message from you. I'm not sure what you wanted me to do with the information, but I figure since they are your family, I would transfer them to you and let you have the joy of adding to their memorials.

Shalom,

MB

Caroline Axtell
Dr. Hilliker
I just noticed that I already have her in my fold. She was listed as "Carrie" Axtell at the Roseville cemetery in Warren county, Illinois. Sometime ago she was transferred to my care.
She is buried in a family cemetery with other Axtells. I have corrected the other site because there is a difference in the death date.
Thanks again!! We now know how she got there, poor child! Let's leave your posting as is for other family to see. Great work!

Dear Pastor Hilliker,
Thank you so much for posting the forgotten ones!
Please link Caroline Axtell to her parents:
Joseph Smith Axtell Find A Grave# 69115184 and
Elizabeth Condit Axtell Find A Grave# 100175229
She did have a family who cared. She is a sister to my husband's Great grandmother, Amy Axtell Rice. If you wish to transfer her I will happily maintain her site! If not, I am sure she is safe in your care.

Charles Young
I believe that this man was Carl Edward Young, died at Jacksonville, Il May 6, 1879.
Do you have a death certificate for Charles.
I tried the Morgan County Clerk and they have no
record. He was born in Karlskoga in Orebro, Sweden Mar 18, 1841

Findagrave memorial #73362769

Thanks for your help.
