|I am originally from North Tonawanda, Niagara Co., New York. I have a daughter, Paula Ann. We live in Albuquerque, New Mexico. |
I am researching the CarneyKearney, Douglass, Dunmore, and Gay families. I am having trouble finding anything on my great grandfather Thomas Henry Carney/Kearney from Pennsylvania. He was married to Lavina Morton. If anyone knows anything about him, PLEASE let me know.

I checked her memorial page and it has Gay as maiden name.
I do not know where Thomas J. Schoonover is buried... New York?? Any leads??
I found her husband No. 2 Private Reuben Persing in my civil war soldier research, in a relatively unknown and way off the road cemetery off Lick Run Road, called the Mattison family cemetery.
Then when I found info on him, I recalled taking picture of the Maria D. Schoonover grave.. his third wife. She is buried not with her husbands, but other Schoonovers in the Elk Run Cemetery (aka Knowlton Cemetery in modern times), which is south of Watrous, PA.
I have not visited all the graves in the Knowlton Cemetery and I note the Galeton Cemetery is rather under represented in FindAGrave, so perhaps Thomas may be there. In the area is also the Phenix and Brookside Cemeteries, both also underepresented in FindAGrave.

Maria D. Everetts Persing (Schoonover) died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. George Koss, in Galeton, Potter County, PA, on 2 Nov 1926 at the age of 86 followed burial in Knowlton Cemetery, Elk Run. Born 14 Sep 1840, she first married Thomas Schoonover, and then after his death, later Reuben Persing. She leaves two sons, four daughters, and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She was a Seventh Day Adventist and a very devout Christian.
Wellsboro Agitator, Tioga, PA - Wed., Nov. 10, 1926, Pg 3.
|Conservative Patriot||One note was her husband's obit|
This is where I learned meaning of initial D. in Maria D. Schoonover.

|Conservative Patriot||Lewis in Morris|
Okay, I found the Morris Township Lewis Cemetery this weekend, and I have been photographing at the Covington Township Elk Run (aka Lewis Farm) Cemetery. The three Douglas graves listed at Morris Lewis are definitely at Covington Elk Run (Lewis Farm). Even the photos provided by WildGoose match the Covington Elk Run location to the photos I took a few days back.
If you are busy, transfer graves 46232994, 46233010, 57791465 to me 47556898, I will update to correct location, and transfer back to you.
|Conservative Patriot||Lewis Cemetery|
The reason why you cannot find the three Douglas graves in the "Lewis Cemetery" is because I found those graves at the Elk Run (aka Lewis Farm Cemtery, aka West Covington Cemetery in old newspapers) Cemetery, Mack Road, between Cherry Flats and Covington, Covington Township, Tioga County, PA. I would recreate these graves in the correct Elk Run - Lewis Farm Cemetery of Covington (not to be confused with the other Elk Run / Knowlton Cemetery over in Gaines Township). Then delete these duplicate graves you created earlier to avoid confusion.
Once these earlier graves are deleted, you can then request ny email at firstname.lastname@example.org that they remove the empty "Lewis Cemetery" of Morris.
Unless there really a Lewis Cemetery in Morris, Morris Township, Tioga County, PA?? Darn if I can find it!! If there is, where is it, and I will go out and start entering the graves found there.

I just posted a photo for Chester Stewart in Cave City Cemetery. You might want to check the dates for his wife #68776424.
