Bio and Links
Bio Photo My researching of family began, after the birth of my grandson Max in 1997, when my daughter-in-law gave me a version of Family Tree Maker. As a child I always loved mysteries. I read my mother's Ellery Queen novels, watched Perry Mason episodes and my favorite board game was Clue. I always thought how much fun it would be to work as a detective. I guess, in my own way, I do.

I firmly believe that our ancestors deserve more than just dates on their memorials. It is because of that philosophy that I try to add as much of the information that is available to me. Thank you for either your help or your understanding when I fall short.

It is for that reason that I have stopped making transfers for right now. I have been backtracking my postings to make corrections or add information.

The surnames I am searching and recording;
from my paternal side are:
Gibson, Keller, Miller, Ploehs, Reed, Walkinshaw
&
from my maternal side, they are:
Beamer, Cunningham, Nelson, Peterson, Park, Parke, Parks, Perrell, Snow and Wiseman

On my husband's tree there are the following:
Mutscher, Oldendorf, vonGunden

The surname originated from 'von Gunten,' i.e. from the village of Gunten on Lake Thun in Kanton Bern, Switzerland. Hans von Gunten appeared in 1703 and 1704.

For those who wonder...
Why the number of memorials managed is higher than the number of memorials created?
This is due to some generous F*A*G contributors who decided to transfer some of their memorials to myself and others.
Thank you...
I feel honored to be one of the recipients entrusted to care for these postings.

RE: Photo
I actually head out of Cincinnati today. I don't live here any more. So another visit is out til my next visit. I have family in Cincinnati and visit a couple times a year. I always take the time to walk my favorite cemeteries while I visit. I still have about 250 or so photos from section 13 to still post. I do not recall seeing a Ploehs monument there. But it is possible that I got it. I took over 500 photos at New St Joseph that day.

Re: James "Dwight" Nuckolls 1915- 1990
I have a question about his name . You show his Middle name in quotation marks, that usually indicates in genealogy that is a nickname. If it is his given middle name and he goes by his middle name it usually is shown by Capitals; such as James DWIGHT Nuckolls. So I just needed to know is Dwight a nickname or his given middle name that he was know by ?

Thanks for making this transfer. What evidence of a connection between Gabriel and John Henry Robbins have you found?

RE: Another transfer and another thank you
It is always nice to know that the memorial has moved on to family and has taken on a life of its own.

That's why I do what I do on Find A Grave.

Thanks for the note. Things like this keep me going.

RE: Paragraph width
Thanks for your kind suggestion but I don't follow. I can't even find the word "note". I guess it's hard to teach old dogs new tricks.
