Hi Tracy!
Do you know who he belongs to? Parents, that is.I found him researching Civil War Detailed Conscripts and Nitre Contractors of Sullivan County. He was in Company B--boy he had some bucks back before the war as well.
I thought all of our DeVaults were covered--unless this is a duplicate memorial.

RE: Nathan and Mary Francis
Thanks for getting back to me, Tracy! Yes, I think I do remember exchanging emails with you, right after we bought this place.

I do know how to extract the pictures and I'm so glad to hear that I have permission to do so. We think it will look so awesome when you walk in the front door of the house to see pictures of the original owners.

I will send Janet Donner an email. Perhaps she has more information about the house, possibly a picture! That would be wonderful!

Thanks again for getting back to me so quickly! Take care!

Nathan and Mary Francis

Hello! You don't know me, but my husband and I live in the house that Nathan and Mary began building in 1892 at 220 Main Street in Moweaqua, IL. Last night, we were searching the internet for more information about the house, (and to see if we could find any pictures of Nathan and Mary and/or the house,) and we were so pleasantly surprised to come across this page about Nathan with his picture, as well as Mary's. It's so fascinating to finally be able to put faces with the names of the people who built our home. I'm aware that Mary's father, Mr. Duncan lived with the Francis' at the time of his death and from what I understand, his funeral services were held here in our home. (Kind of eerie, but nonetheless, interesting!) I would like to make a copy of Mary and Nathan's pictures and display them in our foyer. Also, if you have any more information about them or pictures of the house, or know of anyone else that I could talk to, can you please let me know? We are amazed at the hard work that went in to building this beautiful home and would like to know as much as we can to preserve its legacy!! Thanks in advance! I look forward to hearing from you!

Hi Tracy-
I was wondering if I could manage Samuel Latture, my 3rd g-grandfather. I'd like to enter a short bio and add his siblings.

I just looked in my Carroll County Cemetery books. Their date and yours match..1904. It's been changed. Thanks so much for catching this.

Hi Tracy, I expect that her year of death, is indeed 1904, but I can't tell for certain by the photo that I posted. I will make a note to check it on my next trip to Rock Branch. May not be within the next couple of weeks. But I will see to it that it is correct. For now, I'm going to change the date. Thanks, Loretta

Hi Tracy.
Would you like to have the other DeVault's transferred to you, too?

More than happy to oblige.

RE: Gobrecht Family
Hi Tracy,

Thanks for your message. I am related to the Gobrecht family on my mother's side. My great-grandfather was Henry Louis Gobrecht who married Ida May Dayhoff. Henry's mother was Louisa but not sure what his father's name was as she was widowed and remarried Jacob Hess. He (Henry)ran away from home in his late teens and changed his name to Gobright.

My mother, who is deceased, always told me that our ancestors trace back to Rev. John Christopher Gobrecht, the first Gobrecht immigrant and founder of the German Reformed Church in America.

You can also contact me at as I would be very interested in your research.

I found Nancy's husband listed on Find a grave, listed as James Harrison Vance. In reality Her husband was James N Vance. James Harrison Vance was married to Mary Frances Preyar Vance. They were my great Grandparents.
