As my Findagrave Profile name suggests, I am one of the many people to be diagnosed with Autism (Aspergers, to be specific). As one diagnosed with this syndrome, one of my characteristics is that I focus my attention around specific subjects. Most people with Autism or Aspergers may focus thier attention on dogs or subway routes. During my early high school years, I was fixated with graves after I stumbled across Findagrave. I would usually travel to cemeteries within my neck of the woods (Pennsylvania's Main Line), or whenever I was on vacation. Eventually, I felt that my fixation with cemeteries became morbid, so I slowly shifted my attention onto another subject: the US Presidents. To this day, I can still recite (1) the names of the Presidents of the United States in chronological order from George Washington to Barrack Obama, (2) the years they served in office, and (3) thier Vice Presidents. I also have an odd interest in visting State Capitol Buildings. Every once in a while, however, I would enjoy roaming around a cemetery (mainly if a President was buried in the cemetery). In October 2008, I decided to create my own Findagrave account, so here I am =)
DISCLAIMER: As of January 1, 2013, I'm taking a year off (& possibly a little longer) to spend some time away from FAG so I can focus more on my own personal life. I'll be back sometime in (or after) 2014, but right now I just need to focus on my own personal life -- meaning, until then, I do not wish to get any personal e-mails asking to fulfill FAG requests. | |
