I have been interested in Genealogy since 1985 when I went to go live with my Grandma and Grandpa Kinnick after high school. My children are grown now and so I am ready to start digging. It is wonderful the technology available for research compared to all the tons of paperwork, books, and pictures I inherited from grandma from years of her intense research via snail mail!! |
More than anything it is the migration patterns and township creation of my ancestors that I find absolutely fascinating.
"Today we recorded for kith and kin
The graves of ancestors past;
To be preserved for generations hence,
A record we hope will last.
Cherish it, my friend; preserve it, my friend,
For stones sometimes crumble to dust
And generations of folks yet to come
Will be grateful for your trust."

I am the great grandson of John Terrel Pope. Have we had a genealogy discussion yet, dear cousin? I just requested taking Nelson Pope's memorial over, before I noticed our relation. Would be glad to talk to you some more if we haven't and to talk to you some more if we have. Ray

Yes would appreciate any pictures. I met Doc in 1955 and remember when he bought that Ford SW in that pic. He was a fine mechanic at the Studebaker dealer. I liked Doc. You may send the pics to me at firstname.lastname@example.org Thank you!

I came across Doc's tombstone and recongonized him from your photo's of him. I am wondering if you know where his wife (Mabel Bowden) is buried. Mabel was my mother's younger sister. Thank You Charles Carter

I found out that John B. Kinnick and Fanny Pope Kinnick were my Kathleen Kinnick Dobbs Tucker)'s parents, but at the age of ten months she was adopted by Will and Maud Dobbs. Louise is my mother's half sister from his second marriage, but I do not know what her name was. Could you please tell Louise Herbert's mother's name?
|melanie tucker||RE: Incorrect inforrmation?|
I am guessing that we are related. I am sorry I was never able to meet you. I do have some excellent old photos and other information you might be interested in, so please get back with me on the other things I mentioned.

The Kinnick family data actually belongs to my husband, Ernie Grubb. I have forwarded your message to him, and he will be contacting you. You are welcome to take over these two memorials.
Thanks for your contact.

Thank you for writing about your relative Leon Kinnick.
Unfortunately, I do not have ownership of this memorial -- the only connection I have is a photo from the cemetery that is posted on every memorial. S
ince this is a National Cemetery, the memorials for every soldier are probably under the control of Findagrave. I would recommend leaving a message in one of the forums, so see if they would transfer it to you.
