|LilyPondLane||Ann's Angel Day|
Hi, Today is Ann's Angel Day. Don't forget to leave flowers. Take care.
I came across this and thought you might be interested:
|LilyPondLane||Flowers for Ann Dvorak|
Don't forget to leave flowers for Ann today. It's her birthday.
I have really only seen Ann in "G-Men" and "Sweet Music", when she co-starred with Robert Armstrong. I am a fan of Armstrong's and collect his movies. I enjoyed her performances in those films.
From what I can tell, I think Ann had a special quality about her that made you think that she was probably a nice person in real life. I like that.
Every once in a while, I take one of my Virtual Cemeteries, like "Favorite Actresses" and go through it and place flowers on all the actresses' pages whose names are in the virtual cemetery.
I was looking for info on Robert Armstrong and I came across this blurb and photo of Ann and her husband. You have to look almost all the way down to the bottom of this webpage--a LONG way--before you get to the part about Ann, so be patient, it's there. Here's the link to the page:

I saw the following on the Turner Classic Film Union site. The writer's screen name is MollyLouvain. Here is what she writes on her profile page:
My name is Laura Wagner and I write articles and book reviews for the classic Hollywood publications CLASSIC IMAGES and FILMS OF THE GOLDEN AGE. (For free sample copies of these magazines, go to www.classicimages.com and www.filmsofthegoldenage.com). I am also the co-author (with Ray Hagen) of the McFarland book KILLER TOMATOES: FIFTEEN TOUGH FILM DAMES (www.mcfarlandpub.com), which features profiles on Lucille Ball, Lynn Bari, Joan Blondell, Ann Dvorak, Gloria Grahame, Jean Hagen, Adele Jergens, Ida Lupino, Marilyn Maxwell, Mercedes McCambridge, Jane Russell, Ann Sheridan, Barbara Stanwyck, Claire Trevor and Marie Windsor. I am currrently working on a biography on actress Ann Sheridan.
Thought you would like to know.
I am a Robert Armstrong fan and saw Ann with Robert in 'G' Men and Sweet Music. I enjoyed her performances. My Favorite Actresses virtual cemetery contains many of the actresses with whom he worked.

You are absolutly right. She's a beautiful lady and a wonderful actress out of Hollywood''s Golden Era. I believe that was one of Her last pics. before She retired.
