I have been interested in cemeteries and such since I was a little boy. It started waaaay back when I would visit my grandmother in Springfield, IL (I cannot count the number of times I have been to Lincoln's Tomb at Oak Ridge Cemetery). Since then, I have frequented many a final resting place, and I currently volunteer at the Historic Elmwood Cemetery in Memphis, TN. | |

Thank you very much for the wonderful picture of my great-great grandmother's grave marker. I truly appreciate the time it took to locate & photograph it.
Could I ask? Did you see any markers for other family members while you were there?

| Walker photo request
Yesterday there were Elmwood photo requests for John W. Walker (1841-1903) # 97283193 and John W. Walker (1866-1918) #97290662. You had claimed at least one of them. I assume they didn't have markers since neither has photos and the requests are no longer posted. Please let me know if that was the case so I can make a note on their memorials.

Excellent question. I have seen several like that, some inside, others outside. Speaking from personal observation, I know some people are 'creeped out' by the thought of a mausoleum burial. I have an aunt who refused to be buried at Memorial Park mausoleum (where her husband was), just because it gave her, according to her, the "Heebie Jeebies". | | | Martha Hooper
