Bio and Links
Bio Photo I've lived in Central PA for my entire life. I started a more active family research process in 2008. I am actually researching my maternal and paternal ancestry as well as those of my husband's.....so when I reach a roadblock on one -I move on to another for a change of pace. My 'recent' family roots lie in Cumberland, Dauphin, and Perry counties while my husband's ancestry is centered in Schuylkill county. Historically, I have traced roots back to Germany, Ireland, and Scotland. More recently I found some ancestral glimmers in England and France as well. I enjoy visiting cemeteries not only for research but for the interest, historical, and photographic opportunities as well. I am always looking to connect with others who share similar interests and especially happy when I happen upon a possible relative. Some of my family names include: Branyan, Curley, Flannery, Haas, Hoffman, Johnson, Keeley, and McLaughlin.

Thank you for transfering the memorial, and THANK YOU for getting the location correct. What a shame that little cemetery is in such bad shape.

Small world......
My Schaeffers are from Middleport, the town right next to New Philadelphia.

Do you know of anyone who does obit lookups in the Harrisburg area? Now that I have their dates of death, I'll see if I can get their obits.

Keli,

Was wondering if you know if there are any Doughtertys in Holy Family cemetery where you took photos of Carlin headstones. I'm descended from Carlins that lived in the Philly area. You can contact me at mahony1101@aol.com.

Thanks for your time,
Jeannette

Keli,

There has been a request for some McCormick gravestone photos in the above cemetery. I was going to go and take the photos for Vance, but noticed you had already taken the photo of the stone with 4 names on it. I was wondering if you could please post the photo posted on Elizabeth (Carruth) McCormick - Memorial# 30707325 to these other names.

James McCormick - Memorial# 37706958
Mary Oliver McCormick - Memorial# 37707023

Thank you!
Kindly,
Theresa

RE: Rev. Rittenhausen
Hi, Kell...

There are a bunch of us Rittenhouse descendants out there. My line includes Martin and Amelia, both Rittenhouses who married one another and lived in the Rock Glen/Black Creek area. I read your bio and we probably have similar experiences and think alike when it comes to genealogy ... including acknowledging its addictive nature.

I live in Maryland now but my Dad still lives in the Allentown area so I sneak in side trips to gravesites when I can on my way up and back. Right now we're doing some Virginia visitations ... very rewarding!

In reading your family lines, we may don't appear to have many lines in common; on this side I'm following Stein/Stine, Hauze, Smith, Shellhammer, etc. Best to you, and maybe we'll cross real rather than virtual paths one day.

Ellen
