It seems I've been a family historian all my life. When the family got together at holidays, I listened. They treasured family photos, momentos and stories, and I learned to do the same. Later I sat down with my mother and recorded all she could remember.

My father's family were farmers and weavers from Yorkshire, Lancashire and Cheshire bringing that rich tradition with them to Philadelphia.

My mother's direct forebears include two Revolutionary War soldiers and Mayflower passengers. Less notables were shipbuilders in colonial Philadelphia.

I live near Fredericksburg VA where on quiet nights I can hear ghostly sounds of battle from Bloody Angle, Spotsylvania, a stone's throw from my house.

What a great life!

For the record, anyone is free to use any information or media I post, unless othewise specifically noted, with credit.

Jacob Joy
Hello Faith Smith,
Are you descended from the "Joy" Family?
I have a direct line going back to my 11th GGF Thomas Joye. However I, of course, borrowed what I found online, etc. from other distant relatives.
Do you have your Genealogy determined?
Would you say that this Jacob Joy #54392279 (there are no connections to other family members)is the same as Jacob Joy Jr. #75463303?
In essence, I've been so advised by Sue Sullivan #47578000. See her brief comment referencing same and other related information found on 'Find A Grave'.Thank you very much for your consideration.
Sincerely,
Ken Kelly

RE: james joy buried 1915 at holy cross in yeadon
Hi Faith,
I'm writing to follow up and see if you'd like to transfer James and Bridget to me. More importantly I was going to request her death certificate (to get her parents' names) but wanted to check if you had that info already as well. Warm regards

Was just curious as to where the bio came from? Was very nice to see. I couldn't find his headstone but thought perhaps he was buried with wife, bright m. Joy, 1900. I'm interested learning more about her.

RE: schaffer
Hi Faith, I didn't get the info on Ted Schaffer. I even checked my junk mail to see if it went there. Is this a relative of yours?
